"A true acknowledgement of historical crimes against humanity must include both the heinous genocides of the 20th century, along with earlier mass slaughters like the transatlantic slave trade and Native American genocide, which took the lives of hundreds of millions of indigenous people in this country."

""But [Putin]'s a killer," O'Reilly said to Trump.
"There are a lot of killers. You think our country's so innocent?"

Spot the difference

TM1 • 4 years ago

Your problem is you never point out or acknowledge the crimes against humanity from other ideologies and peoples, like the muslims, the communists (Soviets, chinese, cambodian, cubans, etc), and lets not forget the indigenous Americans (Aztec's, mayans, American Indians), etc. etc. These crimes span history. The reason why is because you are a communist POS and you hate America So, learn something, there is a long history of murderous peoples and ideologies all over the world. SO STFU commie.

Of course not. You can of course "acknowledge bad things."

But when you confine your "acknowledgement" to just one party--at the exclusion of all others, esp in context. Its less "acknowledgment" and more propaganda or even bigotry.

Look at the mistakes, historical and logical. you have made so far. :(

"bad things" is also a comparative issue. Nobody is perfect and people and nations have done "bad things" I doubt any nations hands are utterly clean historical speaking.

So its less a question "bad things" and more a question of whose hands are clean enough to go around pointing fingers.

As you say, the Mayans committed what we would see as "war crimes" all the time so they don't really have any room to bellyache.

You're defending Inbred Omar, who is a worthless pos, and you're calumnizing America. You know what that makes you?

Mr.conservatroll • 4 years ago

So why are all mass shooters leftists, Black racists and islamopithecines? Hm? Because America is evil?

You obviously fear President Trump. Only evil scum fear that man. Quake in fear, wimpy little jihadi wannabe. What are you going to do if you're confronted by a big, bad Christian like me? Schit your pants, that's what.

Islamopithecines are the biggest puzzies on planet Earth. Mo-ham-mad was the sleaziest child molesting coward who ever lived, p!zz be upon him.

I love when you "free speech" types rail about your censorship and encourage eachother to censor anyone you disagree with.

You are a wonderful image of cognitive dissonance.

What do you think happens when you "Flag as Spam", Boomer?

knowshistory • 4 years ago

ok. done.

knowshistory • 4 years ago

easily. trump's statement is true. the long quote is a pile of manure. the transatlantic slave trade was not a mass slaughter. the traders paid good money for those slaves, and the objective was to deliver them alive. there were casualties, but a mass slaughter it was not. there were never hundreds of millions of native americans available for genocide.

what does genocide and fake genocide have to do with my observation that minnesotans got what they voted for?

Mattie Anders • 4 years ago

On the other hand, the moslems murdered between 200 and 400 million in the conquest of India.

So America did nothing wrong when they handed out smallpox blankets because - let me make sure I get this 100% right - there weren't that many Native Americans in the first place?

Did I get that right?

cxt • 4 years ago

Well as "America" didn't do that no, you didn't get that right.

Nor do you I suspect.

Simply reading/typing from whatever card they give you in order to get a free bowl of soup or a nice cardboard box to sleep is more likely. ;)

The anti American party of hatred. You know which one it is.

Yes, right. ;)

Now your getting it.

Except for the whole dodging points raised about your previous mistake.

That is pure Lefty. ;)

Not that you could address your mistake/s, but still.

cxt • 4 years ago

Did I say "america is pure and innocent?"

You put quotes around like I did.

Plus it really doesn't take much "credit" to note that you were mistaken when you claimed "America" did that. Its pretty much common knowledge.

"pig ignorance" is an ad hom, its fallacious, its not a argument either. ;)

The smallpox blanket story is a lie, spun out of whole cloth. A lowlife activist made it up based on an account of two cavalry soldiers who had smallpox in a fort. It's as fake as global warming.

Typical leftwing lies. The atrocities Amerindians committed are very real, of course. They were very fond of torture.

Mattie Anders • 4 years ago

Check your hole card.

The sole documented instance of smallpox in the blankets was approved by an Englishman and instigated by a brace of Swiss mercenaries.

But the chain of events behind the one authentic case of deliberate smallpox contamination began in 1757 at the siege of Fort William Henry (in present-day upstate New York), when Indians allied with the French ignored the terms of a surrender worked out between the British and the French, broke into the garrison hospital and killed and scalped a number of patients, some of them suffering from smallpox. The blankets and clothing the Indians looted from the patients in the hospital and corpses in the cemetery, carried back to their villages, reportedly touched off a smallpox epidemic.

Probably couldn't even tell you which country installed the Shah of Iran.

the statement is a lie. that is all I said. nothing in it about smallpox blankets. those would, of course be covered by the true question by trump: "you think our country is so innocent?". why not put away your blind hatred for America, trump, and the patriotic americans who voted for him? your hatred is making you say foolish things.

---I'm very glad that the House finally denounced the genocide, of course. But I'm also very curious about the timing. Even though all the facts about the genocide were known, the US refrained from formally recognizing it for nearly a century. Perhaps we didn't want to offend Turkey, our NATO "ally?" So why now? And why in the Democrat-controlled House, even though the Democrats usually fall all over each other to flatter Islam and whitewash its sins? Is there some ulterior motive here, perhaps to do with Trump's withdrawing troops?

--- As for Rep Omar, I wouldn't mind acceding to her request at all, just so long as she acceded to the reverse. From here on out, every time a textbook or a news anchor mentions America's history of slavery, they must mention Islam's (ongoing!) history of slavery as well. When they mention American Jim Crow laws and discrimination, they must mention (ongoing!)Islamic Jim Crow laws that discriminate against non-Muslims. When they denounce American "toxic masculinity," they must compare and contrast with Islam's far more toxic variety. We'd get the best of that bargain!

Sorry, there were never hundreds of millions of natives in this country even if you count every native in the western hemisphere going back to the initial crossing of the Bering straits as being part of this country.
Yes, I know asking people of color to actually know simple math is racist.

Mr.conservatroll • 4 years ago

And there was no genocide of "native" Americans, who arrived here 9000 f***ing years after European Solutrians. In fact, Amerindians of many tribes tried to perpetrate genocide on the White eyes.

Ahh, so she is engaging in whataboutism. That's what the Lefties accuse pro Israel types of doing when we counter Lefty complaints of so called human rights abuses in Israel, with the facts of Islamic Apartheid in about 25 nations.

Among so many other things, one thing I have a really hard time processing is how in the world does the United States have Muslim terrorists holding not only Congressional seats, but positions throughout our entire government.

The Founders would kill us all and start over if they could see what their great experiment has become... SMH.

RaymondJelli • 4 years ago

I don't mind changing the resolution to the Jihad against the Armenians. That would make it both accurate and eliminate Omar's objections. I'm sure she'd vote for it then.

US Representatives shouldn't be allowed to vote "present", IMO. Our system hasn't allowed the voter to abstain, so why the weaselly "present"?
The vote was 405-11 because it was a safe vote that the average TV viewer doesn't care about.

Hundreds of millions? How can she be taken seriously with such an absurd comment? Indian wars with the United States cost the lives of 30,000 Indians...
