Yup absolutely. Anthony Hopkins nailed it in every way. Even the narrative at the intro. I'm both happy to have grown up in this era and sad that we won't get to see more.

Arguably one of the best solo MCU films, Thor as a character went through A LOT of changes from 2011- 2019, and his arc was solid. It's crazy how underrated he is.
Only issue is the Jane Foster character or at least the "romance" dynamic, i wanted Thor with Sif together for the longest time. Even Odin approved of her.
I liked Earth's Mightiest Heroes Jane tho, Paramedic, chill personality.
Didn't fancy this Jane as much.

in retrospect there is so much more that could have been and should have been done with a lot of characters in the ..11 years since this came out.

my main thought in rewatching now is.. Natalie Portman's Jane Foster 'romantic interest' has taken so much from the character of Thor and given nothing
It's a really bad relationship that takes some time to realize just how much of a void her character was wrote as.. soon Thor Love and Thunder will (from what the trailer shows) probably fully rob and assassinate Thor's character.. as if Endgame didn't do enough of that..

Great movie, simple, sweet not over the top violence or sex, kept you interested throughout, gotta love those rocky champion type endings.

Loki, ever so venomous, faked his own death near the end to put his family through immense pain, then a moment after you see him plotting an evil plan that brings him joy.

It's a classic. Never gets old.

Not everyone is perfect.
It's kind of confusing how Odin the supposedly allknowing didn't know Loki caused Thor to attack Jotenheim, but Loki could have well used a spell. Then again, Odin could have known all along and cast Thor out because he wanted him to mature.

Odin knew what Loki was up to. Loki can block his mind from being read by all except very few. Odin, being one. Odin knows that the same cycle happens in every timeline. Odin also knows both Loki & Thor's future. Odin banished Thor because it is part of Thor's destiny.

So let me get this straight. Theres only technically 4 gods from Asgard? Loki, Thor, Odin and Heimdall? Makes no sense. You'd think the rest of them would be like Thor and strong and powerful and have powers but nope... this is the ind of stuff that pisses me off

In Agents or Shield there was also an asgardian who was not as strong as Thor.
My piont is if everyone was as strong as Thor, the story
would no longer be correct, Thor would no longer be a god and a legend because everybody was a God and a Legend. Odin would no longer be the Allfather
Heimdall would no longer be the gatekeeper. (If everybody is a legend, no one is)

sort of like every female movie made these days. Every woman is not the strongest most courageous and gay and minority. These films are infinitely better than the trash put out these days.

Then that's just bad writing. Asguardians could all have gifts just not similar ones and just not be as powerful as the Allfather and his family. They could still be the most powerful, but others could have gifts and powers as well.
