This -
Senior Vice President of Business Development at GEO Group, David J.
Venturella, previously alleged the disclosure of information would lead
to “acrimonious competition” between larger organizations, public and
private, that may lead to “their withdrawal from the detention market as
well, thereby leaving ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] with no
viable detention service providers.”
- is quite the money quote isn't it?

The first part is probably the bluntest statement I've seen showing that, in contrast to the neoliberal mythology about markets, business actually hates competition, and seeks to eliminate it wherever possible. And the second part about ICE possibly not having enough dungeons and GEO leaving the DHS teat, well that sounds like a win-win to me.

"... in contrast to the neoliberal mythology about markets, business actually hates competition ..."

You also bring to mind the black/white filter through which criticism of the prevailing model of crony/corrupt capitalism is seen by many simply as knee-jerk condemnation of all entrepreneurialism.

Most sensible people see the benefit of the simple profit motive, mom-and-pop-store capitalism. It is when that principle, through greed and bribery, is twisted into the monstrous globalist race to the bottom (as regards the general welfare) we suffer under today, it justifies outrage among everyone of enlightened convictions, not just share-the-wealth radicals.

Agreed. Small business is not the problem. Massively concentrated wealth, and the disproportionally distributed power arising therefrom, is the problem.
