On Saturday Mazey posted an update on Moms and Cubs seen this year. Here is my box score update that reflect her posting....41 cubs and emancipated Subs were unleashed onto BR this year. In 2018 38 were in the mix, primarily because 18 were emancipated. Next year the numbers are going to be epic because so many fat females and at least 16 cubs will be emancipated.

Just a silly little "ditty" about our siblings who seem to have a love/hate relationship...pretty normal for most teens I would say. But in the end, with obvious similar likes and the same upbringing, love of a great Mom and love for their environment, they do seem to come around to one another eventually. Of course we don't know if they share the same Dad genetics, which, as we know, can change everything. It will be interesting to see how long they continue there relationship season to season. As with all the bears, watching them maneuver sub adulthood interactions is fascinating. This year has been especially interesting watching family interactions, co-mingling coy with cubs, Mom's with Subs, and even observing Mom's fishing on the lip with adult sons. It has truly been a year of 1st's for me and one I will never forget for many reasons. I think mostly, how grateful I am at what a calm and nurturing role the bears played in such a chaotic world. Right down to watching the love bug bite 747 and 856! Whooda thunk? But my goodness did we ever need that?! I have also been thinking about 803 a lot this past week too; hoping and praying she and her two are fat and finding their way peacefully and safely into a warm and serene den, with their Angel guiding their way. I hope the 4 of them are able to enjoy a much deserved Winter's nap together. Godspeed to all the Mom's making that trek, and all the sub's making it for their first time alone. God grant them strength and safety and smarts and protection as they begin their climb. "From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I." I think we've had about 8 inches of rain this month...it's getting tedious!

I haven't been able to look in much in the past couple of weeks, but from what I can tell by the comments, most of the bears have said their good-byes for the year. 856, 747, Holly and cub and Otis. If I'm wrong someone please update me as best you can. I'm sad I've had to be away so much. Especially just before it was time for them to be leaving.
June can't come fast enough!!!

Holly's coy up a tree took Silver (so glad) ... though, she barely beat the wolf who captured the Bronze.

Good Morning Bear Peeps we had a cloudy rainy day yesterday, but still plenty of bears to see. New Falls and Riffles daily cam hours with the shortening days explore will now shut off the falls low at 6pm PDT (9pm EDT) the falls cam will shut off at 7pm PDT (10pm EDT). Here are the bears that were seen yesterday: Unknown Sow (39?) and 2 yearlings, 503, 812, 474, 708 Amelia and 2 yearlings, 602, 908, 94 and her 3 2.5 year old cubs, 907, 821, 719 and 2 yearlings, 811 and Coy, 273 and 3 yearlings, 909, a few other subadults and unknown bears.
