I feel bad for Judge Jung. He almost died just to get to the dinner date, but then he botched it because of the misunderstandings which Do Yeon never cleared up even though he asked her several times before.

Then there's Young Jun who calls out Ba Reun in every episode just to tell him that Oh Reum is his "property/future trophy wife"??
Insecure much?

aryasa123 • 5 years ago

Its her fault who let him believe that... she led him into it. the guy is asking about it, why not clear it out? And then she gets mad and blames everyone in the society..

Tran Yunie • 5 years ago

WOW, SERIOUSLY THIS GIRL I CANT BELIEVE HER. i don't think judge jung was doing anything wrong, i feel bad. He even blamed himself for her

i felt soooo bad for judge jung !!

Shelley • 5 years ago

The last scene is so so cute..... it's fate's way of proposing in their behalf. But it won't be easy for the female judge to fall in love after seeing her mother being tortured by the man who is supposed to be her husband. .... but again Judge Im is a man to die for.... she will eventually fall for him.... he is a perfect match for a woman who is reckless and righteous.

jimin's wife ~(˘▾˘~) • 5 years ago

I think she's already falling for him tho... she liked him before too...

El MariaJIN (Elaine Kim) • 5 years ago

Wait what? She liked him before? But I don't think so.

When she was rejecting him, she said she didn't have any feelings for him back then too. But she did respect him because he's different from other guys and because she felt safe around him, if I'm not mistaken.

Joseph Chang Thiam Huat • 5 years ago

she did like him before but not brave enough to say/show it.

capk • 5 years ago

I'm not sure if she really liked him before (when they were in high school). I want to agree that she just wasn't brave enough to do it but apart from the fact that she expressly said that she didn't but when she was in high school she was also afraid of men. She witnessed her father abusing her mother and she was sexually harassed by her piano teacher - I don't find it easy to believe that she would have like Ba-reun from that position. I believe it when she said she admired him and he was probably a refreshing sight for her hence why she was always watching. Maybe I will be proven wrong and she did actually like him, but I just think it's easier to believe that she wasn't capable of liking someone back then.

Can never ever say enough about this incredible drama!!! Every hour flies right by with the most positive vibes- entertaining while throwing in the reality of how the "world" often works. Judge Park was almost about to give up; then a victim who lost, another judge along with her fated and destined right hand judge gave new meaning to her job.....Park, Im and presiding Judge Han make an awesome team in delivering justice...AND again she still did not get her tea!!!

The Whistler • 5 years ago

I think everyone connected with this drama deserves a pat on the back, and when the time comes I hope they win as many awards as they can. Let's not have the drama excluded because it chooses to be challenging, different and takes drama in SK in a new direction.

happyvirus • 5 years ago

how can people criticize go ara's acting especially her crying scenes?? that scene with the female judge at the end was so well done, i can only imagine how much the actress had to invest into that scene.

Amberle • 5 years ago

I learned that Kdrama fans can be pretty rabid when they dislike an actress, no matter how good said actress performed. I like Go Ara overall. There are dramas where her acting was weak, but it doesn't detract from the scenes that she acted well, for me. To be honest, when her characters have to be annoying, we have to remember, she is just the actress, the writer who wrote the scenes and the director who direct the drama are more responsible, and whom she needs to obey their directions. Just saying :)

happyvirus • 5 years ago

i agree. i first saw her in Hwarang and i absolutely despised her because her character was a typical weepy whining kdrama heroine. but it was the writer's fault for making her character so shit. when i saw her in black however, i was completely blown away by her acting. her eyes looked so sad and emotional that she made me cry rivers. same goes for this drama, a well written plot with some direction, characters with substance and that develop so much in every episode, and a flawless script. no wonder go ara stole the show for me. L might be a cutie with his dimples, but i'm watching this drama for go ara and her character !!

Amberle • 5 years ago

Actually, I like her character in the beginning in Hwarang. She was feisty and comical. And her scenes with Park Hyunsik, the king, were really funny. Then the writer and director dumbed down the character by making her weepy and whinny in the later half. It was so irritating because I knew she can do more than cry.

I start noticing Go Ara in her earlier drama, You're All Surrounded with Lee Seungi. I really liked her in that drama. She has great chemistry with the lead actor. That show was also funny, but with heart touching moments as the team goes about solving cases. Watch it if you have not.

Go Ara shines when she carry feisty roles. Just watch her in her role in the Reply series. She actually put on weight to carry out the role.

KitunDO DialiumKSJ • 5 years ago

I seen her act before as a highschool student, in who are you, with an older male lead... you should watch that... ever since, I started watching kdrama if she's in it... but I haven't seen Black yet... because the male lead, don't like him much... reading your comment made me think twice... I think I'll put it in my watch list :)

neko mao • 5 years ago

hwarang storyline suck anyways...they think by bringing a lots famous idols in one drama can make the drama blown up but its just become worst...althought i like the lee kwang soo and park seo joon bromance at first 1-3 ep if im not mistaken before lee kwang soo charcter dead tho..

Vebin • 5 years ago

This is my first Go Ara drama and all I see is an actress that is doing a wonderful job.

llt • 5 years ago

So she was fired for dating a married man but was the married man fired is the question.

Bobknow65 • 5 years ago

Just outstanding, Go Ara is amazing, her acting is so heartfelt and meaningful, the writers picking Go Ara as the lead actress was spot on. Kudos!

danagrey • 5 years ago

No matter how they try to paint his father, i still think he is irresponsible. My dad was like that, helping every tom, dick and harry while placing us last. how can you think you're helping the world when you dont put your family first. it's just his excuse to be lazy, even going as far as to put the family money in other peoples hands when they can barely survive a rent raise. i dont even think he works, so far they've only indicated that he is an activist and thats all he does. At least if he wants to help people he should make the money, or at the very least not take in new mouths when they barely have anything to eat.

Tanya Bhatia • 5 years ago

I agree with you. Why start a family if you cannot take care of them? He chose to have a child and to marry and still cannot be bothered to care for them first. Men like these are amazing really.

Shelley • 5 years ago

I love the line..." I may not change the world but I want to stand up for myself, at least." - right judge Im, you are the man! And for a judge it is disappointing to hear the word revenge..... be it from anyone... we should not take revenge.... fighting eye for an eye tooth for a tooth does not mean revenge..... it means fighting equally.... fight for what you think is right.... not for revenge.... this way we can fight with a clearer mindset and hopefully the result will be more acceptable though in this world full of unexpected things that is not always the case....

Amberle • 5 years ago

This episode is so painful for Judge Park. That heart to heart talk with the senior female judge made me cry rivers. "The more I see the monsters in people, I begin to see the monster in me". Paraphasing her line. I felt chills down my spine and sorrow too. Ain't that true? I'm glad the senior judge is there to give support to Judge Park who looked like she was giving up.

The ending though, with that cursing in the garden, and the foreign couple mistaking the curses as declaration of love lighten what is otherwise sad episodes. Plus Judge Im's smiles.... oh wow, lovely :)

chibimi • 5 years ago

13:30 Do Yeon, she never explained him when he was asking. I think it's natural to get wrong conclusion. Also Judge Han was too hasty to tell her everything like that during the beginning of the conversation. It was wrong timing and it was very unlucky day for Judge Han.
I think Judge Park would be better as attorney or prosecutor. She's persistent but not impartial and too emotional sometimes. But maybe because she's still passionate newbie.

Amberle • 5 years ago

I like the love story of Judge Han and Miss Lee. It's full of comedic misunderstanding. Love that scene when he runs to her, and the running reading of poetry in the background. Rooting for them! As for Judge Park, yep, it's passionate newbie mistakes. She's learning though, that's what makes this drama awesome. The characters are not perfect, you see their growth.

The Whistler • 5 years ago

For some reason this ep got ratings just above the first ep. It has constantly been going up, could be a one off or perhaps something like the World Cup was playing on another station. Addendum: South Korea beat the current cup holders Germany and pushed them out of the run off., Go SK!

jimin's wife ~(˘▾˘~) • 5 years ago

yeah I doubt they lost interest.. they mentioned on "Knowing Bros" that the drama is gaining popularity and had pretty great response so.. it's probably world cup or some other news XD

Sandra Reynolds • 5 years ago

Miss Hammurabi, an excellent drama, has inspired me to set a higher standard in my choices for Kdramas to watch. Every episode touches my heart and soul... makes me reflect about the realities of life...of how fragile human beings can be...of how mean and cruel they can get...and how they can also be the most sublime and noble of all creations... This drama shows the beautiful and the ugly in this "horrible world"... with such creative, remarkable portrayal of the artists...I only have appreciation for all who produced this great work! Congratulations for a job well done!

Amberle • 5 years ago

Yep :) I also felt the same way about Prison Playbook (Wise Prison Life in dramacool). Same vibes, realities of life in prison where not all the criminals are the same. Both dramas make me cry and then laugh and reflect.

Lc.Doppelgänger • 5 years ago

"I may not change the world, but I want to stand up for myself, at least" wise words.

Sandra Reynolds • 5 years ago

Go Ara, I must say, is one of the finest artists in the entertainment industry. She's a remarkable actress, a talented singer and dancer...with an exceptional beauty that sets her apart from all the rest. She gets paired with some of the most handsome and talented actors, too! Yes, she gets haters because they tend to envy her...and no amount of hate can ever outnumber the lovers she has. She is Miss Hammurabi...strong, passionate, determined, brave, intelligent, beautiful inside and out, funny, loving, caring...and vulnerably virtuous...she's a rare kind.

I was crying so hard at the conversation between Judge Park and the female senior judge.

Then at the end of the episode, I was smiling like a mad man in love.
