I was not expecting that sx scene šŸ˜

Huldah • 4 months ago

that was unnecessary, not sure why they added

Same..... felt somehow disgusted šŸ¤•

Jazzcd • 4 months ago

I too was taken aback. It is interesting that he was covered and yet shee was completely nude. Not that I want him nude, just the double standard and shows who the irrelevant scene was made for. https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

That's why I prefer C-dramas . People complain about its strict censorship rules, but I much prefer it. For me, Korea, Taiwan, Japan really are a bit too free with soft porn. Japan dramas have too many dark themes. Thailand dramas are still rather juvenile productions and seems to focus on gay men mostly. Anyway, just my impression and preference.

My habit to look through the comments of Episode 1 first, so I guess this is one of those types of dramas. Thanks for the heads-up.

netflix is so annoying

HKim0072 • 4 months ago

Don't blame Netflix. They don't intervene in the script or directing choices. They give "suggestions" to the directors about technical things the international audience may prefer, but they don't make demands.
It is telling that Squid Game streamed to global audiences with no cuts, changes or tweaks.

But there is so much differences between netflix Kshows and other producersā€™ ...

HKim0072 • 3 months ago

Do you have a job?
Now imagine doing your job with a person looking over your shoulder and correcting you every 1 hour.
Would your output / work have a different result? How about your mental health?
Netflix just works with the production team on finding talent and provides a budget. After that, they try to stay in the background and let the directors / writers produce their vision.

Pourquoi • 3 months ago

I feel you have a strong passion for this debate, so I should maybe ask you the same question, maybe you do have a job and moreover in TV production ? Anyway, I donā€™t work in this field, but itā€™s been 15 years now Iā€™m watching dramas, and as I saw an evolution, I also know that an OCN show is not a TVN show, I can see a before and an after netflix, and I can see differences between netfilx Kshows and other channels Kshows. Of course itā€™s my own personal perception, and it is indeed allways interesting to learn how it works behind the cameras, but still I continue to see so much differences between the two. Maybe my perception is wrong, but I canā€™t stop seeing it anyway, and I am deeply sorry if I hurt you in any way by thinking what I think.
Also I know a lot of places that are exactly how you described, and depending on the situation, it can be a nightmare or a life saver ...

netflix has nƓthing to do with nude scenes or anything like that. they just shop for shows, if they like it ,they buy it nothing more nothing less. i hate unnecessary sex scenes to btw, there is no reason why they got to show the details, we know what happens, we dont need nasty porn to get the point, its just nasty

Pourquoi • 3 months ago

About Netflix intervention, as I said itā€™s more about feeling than knowledge, I donā€™t think I will change my mind on that but itā€™s still good to know and I will still watch their shows if they sound appealing.
About the nude/sex scenes I completly agree with you. Porn is porn and when I watch a movie, a tv show or a drama Iā€™m not here to watch porn , unless itā€™s necessary to understand a character or a dynamic which is really rare.

HKim0072 • 3 months ago

Great. You've done zero research and making up weird opinions. -- not facts
I'm literally quoting Korean writers and directors from interviews. -- facts

Pourquoi • 3 months ago

Yes, thatā€™s exactly what I wrote, I shared my impressions as a not specialist in that matter with the only help of my experience and my point of view. I can completly understand others not sharing it, and for me itā€™s ok, thatā€™s what make discussions interesting.

On an other hand, writers and directors created something which they owned until it was released. I think that the truth about a creation goes behond the creators point of view when it goes public, because what we intent to do as a creator and the result are two different things. I say that as a professional in art studies, and again it is what makes an analysis so interesting. In most paintings, you can detect both conscious and non conscious intentions. Experts knows that interpretations about that are subject to change in accordance with analysers biases.

In a nutshell, I donā€™t think you are wrong, but it doesnā€™t mean I am wrong.
I see that you really want to prove something with your facts statement, but as I donā€™t have your sources, and donā€™t want to spend time on researches on that specific subject, again I canā€™t stop seeing it.

And thank you for saying my opinions are weird, I am most of the time super proud about that <3

HKim0072 • 2 months ago

Politely, you are part of the worst generation. I used to have to look up stuff in encyclopedias when I was curious about stuff when I was a kid. Do you even know what microfiche is? Trying do research that way.
We literally have this thing called "Google". You can spend 2 minutes on Google / AI search which would be arguably less time than your "day dreaming" opinions.
Honestly, I don't care about people's opinions. Whatever. I get ticked off when people spread bad information.
Kingdom' screenplay writer Kim Eun Hee expressed her satisfaction with working with Netflix. Writer Kim Eun Hee also didn't shy away from expressing her satisfaction in working with Netflix. She stated, "I wondered if it was okay that they didn't interfere with the filming direction this much. They put a lot of trust in me and I already thought of Netflix as one team with us since the time I began writing the script. Also, rather than assessing what I wrote, they try to think of what they can do to help."

I might be older than you think. Anyway I'm a little sad this discussion took this path and that I was apparently unable to elevate it.

TinĆ©T • 4 months ago

I understand it's his fantasy, but did she have to be completely nude to portray what they wanted? So unnecessary.

Elysian Serendipity • 4 months ago

What a start! Murder mystery is not my go to genre but this has me hooked and the extra bonus is that all eps are out! That blind lady super sus yaā€™ll. Guide dogs usually only stray from the path if they notice an obstacle or if thereā€™s something unsafe and await orders to continue on the path; so itā€™s weird the way she ignores all the signs her dog gave her. Ppl with guide dogs can also be partially blind so maybe she saw something but not clearly and didnā€™t want to get involved at the moment (cause it seems she went back to get the hammerā€¦). I bet shes gonna be his next kill to get rid of evidence.

EVERYTHING IS PRETTY INTRESTING AND GOOD FOR NOW BUT The seggz scene was a JUMP SCARE FOR ME ON TOP IT'S NOT EVEN CENSORED šŸ’€šŸ’€šŸ’€

Senior Staff Byun Juim • 4 months ago

I thought there will be only violence and murder scene.. the sx scene was unnecessary though

jiji • 4 months ago

can you please tell me which minute to skeep it ??

freepalestine • 4 months ago

It starts at 44:50 absolutely disgusting

Senior Staff Byun Juim • 4 months ago

i dont remember the exact minutes however i also dont want to repeat watching it šŸ˜ž its in the last part. just skip around 6-8 minutes before the ending.

Han • 4 months ago

after vigilante from last year, i was looking for something similarā€¦ all Iā€™m gonna say is choi wooshik never disappoints so im geeked for this

Chaitu • 4 months ago

I don't think it is same as vigilante, the ML here clearly doesn't fight for justice, his actions with his school friend itself speaks his character. He is more like someone who is frustrated and takes out his anger on right people but it isn't really about justice.

Han • 4 months ago

Iā€™m aware itā€™s not the same, just similar enough premise! but a vigilante doesnā€™t have to fight for justice for the sake of justice yk

BigBangVIP-NYC • 4 months ago

More like the King of Pigs than Vigilante maybe.

Jazzcd • 4 months ago

Could you imagine the ratings for King of Pigs if it was picked up by Netflix????

Demon šŸ˜ˆ • 4 months ago

He justified his killing just because he killed a murderer, I guess he needs therapy. His imagination is wild and he is still somewhere in the past, the trauma he got from the bully is still not healed. The thriller and cast is so good, I am fan of son sukku and wants to se his romcom side too just like in a my liberation note. Choi wo shik is so versatile actor, he nailed it.

oh my god I donā€™t know why to thank that seggs scene nearly cost me my life I started this episode in the living room with my family and saw on tiktok the warning at the same time I changed it so fastšŸ˜ kdramas be showing everything nowadays with zero warning.

cedric • 3 months ago

This is a Netflix production, that's why it's more liberal. K-dramas from the national broadcasters will never show a nude scene.

jiji • 4 months ago

can you please tell me which minute to skeep it ?

SLEEPING-detective • 4 months ago

44:50

Alexandra Be • 4 months ago

No kdrama is without some good old bullies... And the ML seems to be a nasty person as well, cheating, lying, stealing from his friend. Luck seems to be on his side since everything worked out in his favor. That psychopath that he killed was a monster. He deserved even worse. The girl at the end who took the hammer is the blind lady with the dog. I wonder if she is really sick or she was pretending...

Christiecocoxo • 4 months ago

Okayyy great first episode šŸ˜ I really enjoyed how the director used music and unconventional shots to build tension. Very unique. I wonder if it's a signature. May have to look at their other works.
You can tell if a show will be good by its first episode. This drama looks like it will fill the hole left in me from Death's Game.

Speaking of holes, that s3x scene caught me off guard. I'm just wondering what showing it adds to the scene? It really wasn't necessary šŸ˜

Christiecocoxo • 4 months ago

About the s3x scene placement, just gave it some extra thought. And came to the conclusion that maybe it shows how he isn't able to get off (for lack of better wordsšŸ’€) on the usual simple pleasures of life (i.e, s3x) now that he has tasted blood.
His usual wet dream is now being replaced with murdering someone.
I think it just emphazes his growing desire for murder.

Goddess of Sadness • 4 months ago

I rmb watching a Kdrama when a serial killer told the detective in charge that he said the good feeling on killing is better than sx.

Christiecocoxo • 4 months ago

Probably gives the same euphoric feeling.

I was watching it with my mother and Allah saved me cuz she went to sleep but was that really necessary?? It was just pure bad scene
