A dead duck smashed

hatunzoth • 1 year ago

Not surprised, but a little sad.
The console war needed to rage more, in order to DECREASE prices.

Was honestly surprised it was still around.

I think stadia is too advanced for this moment, it's great, you don't have to spend at least 1k in a computer, you don't need to download 100GB games, no need to install updates, you just purchase, and play at full resolution with almost 0 input lag playing through a chromecast. I think it's the future but maybe we are not ready yet... Honestly i just think stadia needed more incentives to be used, more games, some kind of collab with steam or something, where you could transfer some game licences to stadia for a small price or something like this... Well, idk, I think it's gona come back in the future with a new name :)

That name is GeForceNow. Both Stadia and GFN always did work very well. The only relative downside to GFN is dealing with the layered logins.

GamePass should buy the Stadia or GFN tech. Microsoft, unlike Google, is obviously serious about cloud gaming, and in for the long haul. But, unlike Stadia & GFN, GP still suffers connection delays, frequent graphics downgrading, and complete absence of cloud local multiplayer. If GFN shuts down, I'll be bearish on cloud gaming, because GP just doesn't work very well.

The only thing I disagree with on this article is the comment about is "the poor design of the Stadia controller." It is a solid piece of hardware and feels really good in the hands. If they open up the Bluetooth on it, I'll definitely love to keep using it.

As a partying gift, Google is going to provide a self service option to unlock Bluetooth.

I predicted it ages ago.

I wasn't into it. That's obviously why.
