Hah, probably yes it would be quicker and easier. I kind of fancied this more low-fi approach though. If I do another one, with LEDs, I'll definitely go the PCB route though.

Nice! Can't help wonder whether it'd have been easier to get a PCB with a matrix pattern? Still, very cool!
