I still don’t think I’ll DNF every book at 20% if I’m not loving it yet, but it is a handy way to gauge interest! I may track it, and then reassess the lower ratings at 50%—then I feel like I’ve given the book more is a chance.

Although I did just DNF a book seven chapters in because I just KNEWWWWWWW it wasn’t going to get better.

I get that! It's definitely not for everyone, but if I make it 50% in I know I won't quit it even if it makes me miserable.

True...now that I think about it, I guess the couple books I did choose to DNF recently were actually slightly before 20%. Huh.
