Didn't know about CM when this was originally posted. Am so pleased and honored to be reminded of the truth of God's eternity today. Need to recall this every moment... πŸ˜‰

People who stay married live at least 4 years longer than people who don't, and those in happy marriages live way longer. The ones satified with their marriages have way more T-cells - cells that fight cancer and fight infections/diseases - much higher immunity, than those unhappy in their marriages. Wondering about those who remain single....probably they have dramatically shortened life spans.

We would well remember the children of Fatima's, "forever and forever."
November, the month of souls is a very good time to "Memento mori", remember you will die.
Busyness and noise, never allows for silence and without silence there is no time for Memento mori.
In Robert Cardinal Sarah's book, "The Power of Silence", he writes," In silence, man can tell how limited earthly time is..."
Incredible to me it seems, "the noisier one's soul the more likely that soul has not one clue that "it" has an "expiration date". Ah yes, a human has a "shelf life" as it were...but humans don't want to hear the reality of death. Humans race on and defy the Creator because the creature will simply defy his Creator and death and live here on earth forever.
With little silence in one's day, it is increasingly difficult to escape the endless noise that deafens us to our own mortality.
Remember man that thou art dust and to dust thou shalt return... and silent as the grave our ultimate end on this side of the veil... but a soul lost is lost forever and forever and forever.

CG1066 • 1 year ago

Yes, so true! God is only found in silence, and even in external silence, people can't be "silent" inwardly to find God. The "trick" is to get at the point to be silent inwardly and at peace where ever you go - at least understand how to get there! Teaching my 5th grade CCD kids all about that - they get it so readily at that age. The uncontrollable hyperactive kid in Sept is now a calm kid in November!

Besides family life attitude changes, Bishops actions and attitudes have changed. Do you think it was right for Archbishop Codileone to hold a special celebration congratulating McElroy for becoming a Cardinal with the history of supporting abusive, sinful priests? Do they no longer understand how these deeds lead people to hell? They act as if they are just "faults" or regular sins, and therefore it’s just a charitable act for them to hold a party for one who gets promoted for promoting evil!!! At least that’s how it’s coming across to me.

They should see the movie about Don Bosco and his dream he had of his impure boys (he oversaw an orphanage) and what happened to them when they died....running away from the wrath and justice of God with their hands up in the air uncontrollably into the opened door to Hell!!!! This along with the fact Don Bosco woke up screaming with actual burnt hands for touching the outside of hell’s walls makes this more than just a dream!

This is what I used to be reminded of every day in Catholic school before VII. Then it stopped suddenly in 1960.

I'm glad that you started out with divorce because people think today that if they go to the tribunal and fill out the paperwork, the prior marriage is vaporized like James wishes Hell would be.

But 90% of annulments are themselves invalid (Robert Vasoli).Christmas is upon us again, and what should be the most wonderful time of the year for children is ruined by the schedule they must follow:

Christmas morning with Mom and her new husband and the other half of the day with Dad and his new wife.

It's nauseating, but ask your local tribunal judge what he thinks. I got a snear from one. They don't do sin; therefore, they don't do Hell.

The holidays are often difficult times for broken families. It tends to highlight the pain as you said Kathryn. Pray for these broken families. Some can be healed and united. Others cannot. Ora pro nobis.

CG1066 • 1 year ago

I actually heard a priest say that once, if they are ignorant and they are doing grave sin, they don't go to hell!!!! He also stated that I should discern if I should tell them about grave sins because I probably would be sending them to hell because they were not ready to turn from their sin/convert!! If they are not ready to convert though, or their heart is not open to turn and try, I doubt they are getting into heaven no matter if they sinned or not! He spits out a lukewarm heart - straight to hell!

Blobee • 1 year ago

The Modernist priests love to cite the technicalities, that if one is ignorant of doing grave sin, they don't go to hell. And yes, technically that is true. However.......what they don't mention is that it's pretty apparent that people either seeking divorce, or being unwillingly divorced by a spouse (so-called "no-fault divorce") know they promised, they vowed, to stay united in marriage. Those breaking that vow know it is a serious matter. They know the hurt and damage it will do not only to each other, but also to the rest of the family (children, their parents, siblings, extended family.) They know it is a grave matter.

The Holy Spirit does not leave them ignorant. It is more than likely everyone is given the grace to know what they are doing is wrong. Perhaps their circumstances (in cases of abuse) compel them to end the legal marriage, but that does not compel them to seek another spouse.

It is a false gospel for a priest to pretend most people do not know divorce is wrong, and that seeking remarriage is even more wrong. Abuse of the annulment process is one of the errors of Modernists. Instead of protecting souls from hell, they pretend they can undo what cannot be undone.

God will still hold people accountable, because He knows truly whether someone knew or suspected an act is wrong. There is no denial when standing before God. Priests should be telling people that, not telling them there will be no prosecution.

Whatever your relationship with Jesus at the moment of your death, is what it will be for all eternity...friend or foe. Jesus doesn't "send" anybody to hell. People are correct about that. But He's a gentleman and allows us to choose Him or turn away.

Blobee • 1 year ago

If you have ever been in front of a judge in court for whatever reason, and they are not happy with you, their power over you is pretty scary. If you are found guilty of whatever infraction you are accused of, they will pronounce sentence over you, and it will be carried out.

God's mercy ends at your death. At that point, all plea bargain offers not exercised are off. And comes the judgement. You WILL be held accountable for all willful infractions, and the sentence will be passed.

Don't kid yourself. Once you appear before Him, He will execute justice. Make your plea bargains now...

CG1066 • 1 year ago

If you watch the movie about Don Bosco and what he was told/experienced, we rather be in hell after meeting the wrath and justice of God for those who have seriously sinned. Sister Faustina stated souls who never got a chance to know Jesus by no fault of theirs, got an incredible grace to know Jesus instantly at the moment of death and to decide.

CG1066 • 1 year ago

What, John P. Glackin, you do not like what the saints say about God's justice and mercy?

Michelle Campbell • 1 year ago

Nope...we send ourselves.
And, as each of us has that Light, that Spark of the Divine, it's up to us to
light it even further with God's grace leading.

I think you are both right - we send ourselves to hell but the "sentence" or what TYPE of Hell or "justice" you experience for eternity is given at death.

As example of how unexpectedly death can strike, the other day a friend showed me pictures of two people he knew, the first, a man in his 70's who had just died from a heart attack, and the second, of the man's son, mid 40's, who, while trying to revive his father, died from a heart attack.

There is no beef, nor beer in hell and the torments are forever and ever. Yet we are clinging onto Jesus Christ to be in bliss with HIM forever and ever. I am so happy we push each other onward to the cross. We affirm our true Home is with God in Heaven. There is true love by everyone forever.

Drew Pointkouski • 1 year ago

We need to hear this about once per week. Wouldn't it be great if the Catholic Church had some way to reach out to everyone each week? Oh yeah, the pulpit at Sunday Mass ... WAKE UP PRIESTS - CARE FOR YOUR FLOCK!!!!! "Forever and ever goes both ways!!!"

Wonder if those Miters who are leaving Baltimore today after that 'Do-Nothing' puff session cross themselves before take-off?
Or, maybe after that 'friendly skies' shot of scotch? πŸ₯ƒ

Drew Pointkouski • 1 year ago

That we are paying for!

CG1066 • 1 year ago

In my experience, to convert people though, one usually needs to be ready to show extraordinary love by extraordinary service. Talking intellectually is the first step, but it's the heart changing experience via your service that convinces them.

Michelle Campbell • 1 year ago

St Solanus Casey and many other Saints manning those soup kitchens
would agree. πŸ‘

CG1066 • 1 year ago

Yep, those saints would never turn anyone away and never turned anyone away while listening to them. God Himself awarded both - so many stories - of healings, etc. and special "gifts" to those saints, all because they cared enough to "listen" and tried to help them!!

Michelle Campbell • 1 year ago

Indeed. Reminds me again of that Grace Resource Center in the Antelope Valley when we lived there.
An elderly man, loading his Cadillac with food was complained about by the staff.
The founder of Grace Resource said NO ONE GETS TURNED AWAY!
Then said for all they know, that's his only car and he's on a fixed income. πŸ₯«πŸ¦ƒπŸ₯«

My life experience is you never know what’s going on in a person’s life. Whether he’s scamming or not is not for us to know. That’s between him and God. Meanwhile we are called to serve in the name of the Lord.

How many Bishops do more than administrative stuff (coverup abusive priests, having parties celebrating those who got promotions for getting away with allowing abusive priests to continue, snicker) I wonder?

Michelle Campbell • 1 year ago

Good question. Haven't seen any manning soup kitchens.
Perhaps they send their chancery as reps?
If dentists can man 'free dental care clinics' once a month like they do in Santa Rosa, CA, maybe Bishop Vasa can oversee a food bank.
Maybe he does?
That would make a nice pre-Thanksgiving story. πŸ₯£πŸ¦ƒπŸ₯£

Bobbie • 1 year ago

Yes, it would be a GREAT evangelization tool if a priest could help out in food pantries, etc. Like maybe twice/month. However. I know many are stretched out thin.

CG1066 • 1 year ago

Not in my diocese. They talk about all the books they read. They must have lots of free time to do that.

Especially if he's a good cook!!!
Dear Ven Archbishop Sheen admitted he was not a good cook.
In fact, when invited to dinner, one Catholic thought it amusing that the dear bishop would open cupboards in his kitchen, just feeling at home l guess. Sweet. πŸ₯˜πŸ₯«πŸ¦ƒ

Simon Rafe • 1 year ago

You also have a mechanism to reach out people each week - each day, really; talking to them. And - and this is the really cool part - we get to talk to people who are not at Mass (i.e. people are are not Catholic and who don't have at least some knowledge of these things).

Drew Pointkouski • 1 year ago

And I do Simon! And thanks to Church Militant, I now know there are other faithful Catholics out there, which is inspiring so as not to despair. It would just be great if I could actually meet some holy priests one day, not the rabble of old queens who currently wear the collar, and their evil step-sisters who wear miters but do nothing but enjoy their glamorous sinful lifestyles of queer homosexuality!

"For ever and ever."

Michelle Campbell • 1 year ago

May our souls be preparing for Eternal Life.
Why? Because of Love...Love for so much that even if we taste the bitter, we can still savor its opposite, the sweet.
Our Blessed Lord...'We love Him because He first loved us'.
Sounds like a plan. Knitted in our mothers wombs, in secret, does God fashion us
for greatness in our sphere of influence or, to be a curse to those around us?
Yes, that choice is before us day by day, moment by moment.

Michael, even though l heard this talk awhile ago, its impact is still fresh, filled with warnings.
Warnings are important for the soul and since 'a soul is of great worth in the eyes of God', many chosen souls, including priests, have been shown their place in Hell.
That is a grace, a SOLID GRACE & MERCY for that soul.
The three children at Fatima, the four children at Garabandal, St Faustina and others know Hell is real.
The Blessed Mother at Fatima said souls fall into Hell 'like snowflakes'.
As l live l'm sensing such REALITY, REALITY about the Existence of the Triune God...not just a picture, or painting of the Trinity, but, THEIR REALNESS!!!
In praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet, l KNOW Christ Crucified is above our earth,
our world, shielding us from the Father's wrath!!!
What incredible Love & Mercy. And THAT should have us Catholics running to MASS to embrace Calvary, being there with Our Blessed Lord, eating His Flesh &
drinking His Blood. Why? Because He said to do so as Bp Sheen has remarked.

Whoa, Whoa to those prelates who allow sacrilege day in and day out to be committed by bad Catholics! You are doling out Hellfire for yourselves and those who flaunt their mortal sins, yet partake in the Sacred Mysteries.
Fr James Altman has made it very clear. No Catholics should be MARXIST-DEMS!
No unholy allegiances, no exceptions...this is serious material, gravely serious.
No, l don't wish to 'Meet James' in Hell.
Would prefer 'the Beatific Vision' of Heaven.
As St Thomas Aquinas said, 'Only You Lord, only You'.
