Hi Paul, I'm able to set exposures of up to 30 seconds in manual timelapse mode. Have you already enabled the timelapse setting in the menu?
I have created a short video to show how I select these settings:

yes, I had not realized that one has to set the Video mode to Manual, which allows one to set long exposure times. It works beautifully for Milky Way time-lapses, I shoot 8 sec exposures every 10 sec, the battery lasts 6 hours - midnight to dawn. however I still do not fully understand how to use the "each frame" setting in manual mode. You imply that with a fixed exposure time (eg 8 sec) and the ISO set to auto, and a fixed aperture (in my case fully open) the ISO will automatically be adjusted to keep the overall image brightness constant. So if I start the timelapse at dusk, then as the sky gradually darkens the ISO will keep ramping up? (potentially to max?). My question is: does this work in manual mode with a fixed apreture and exposure time?
It looks as though in manual time lapse mode the longest exposure is 1/8 sec. Any way to get even longer exposures eg for astrophotography?
