This is such a sad day. So young, enterprising, so vibrant, with his daughter, and the others that are trusting things would go right for a morning with energetic and generous Kobe. So sad.
As a fan that rooted against him always, except for Olympics, he was one of the ones I feared most. When the Celtics and Lakers would both be good and contenders for about that 5 year period, I was always afraid that Kobe would break my heart, defeating the team I loved and I know the pain would linger for months.
Kobe was the best of his basketball generation and the most creative craftsman of his chosen trade of all time.
When thinking of greatest nemesis in the Celtic Lakers rivalry, I think Kobe might be number 2 as Kareem needs to be in the top spot.
