Why is it that when a man is walking to work, he gets a car but if a woman is walking to work-- she gets raped? Every story like this... "Worker walks miles to job, gets car from community", it's ALWAYS a man, never women? Do a Google search-- you won't find even ONE story where the woman is the one getting the car, but you find plenty where she is the one who gets raped.
Seriously? Maybe women who walk to work don't want to accept rides from men who might get to know them and be inspired to buy them cars? Maybe women who drive to work don't care about other women who walk to work and don't want to buy cars for them? A gazillion possibilities, and you cite "cars for men" versus "rape for women". Nuts.
Couldn't be. A White guy organizing a beneficial endeavor and helping a black guy...must be some racism somewhere.../sarc.
Sarcasm is just another word for "Stupid". I you have nothing intelligent to say, why bother?
Most news of late is simply very depressing to read so to read this story really made my day, we need more of these stories .....really we do.
Black race Hippo, your user name alone demonstrates your hate towards people of the black race and in your hate you are missing the point, the story is about determination and desire to earn an honest living, the other about human kindness, you obviously only focused on the race of the recipient and not only that, you hold him responsible for the wrongdoings of others of his ethnicity, I invite to share yours and I bet you another $5.000.00 that I could match one by one the # of wrongdoings , and yes I would give them to the same young man, who is completly undeserving of your hate and just happened to be in same path with an unselfisfh, kind person, the only thing they had in common is they are both HUMAN BEINGS ... Long live human kindness ยก,,,
Sanctimonious much?
Really nice article THANKS CBS.
I really want a Harley. I really do. Someone please buy one for me! I have to drive a Chevy Silverado each and every day...I really want a Harley.
Typical libs, always ASKING for free stuffs ....
My eyes are sweatin'.
Yeah, good story. There are some nice people out there
This is what we should be doing; being kind to each olthr regardless of skin color, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.
And that is what I like about Texas, as well as DQ. God does bless Texas every day.
Finally, something good!
Stories like this is a heluva lot better than anything involving politics. But dammit, Carl. Leave the onions alone and stop peeling them, so that I can see what I'm reading.
God bles them all! God bless us all! Truly, we all have far more in common than we do differences.
What is truly inspiring about this story is that even if the 20 year old had saved up enough money to buy a car it would not have been a $5k car - it would have been a $800 beater, and it would have nickle-and-dimed him, been unreliable, and costly for as long as he owned it. This is a gift that he's going to literally remember for his entire life.
Good story about a deserving young man.
More beautiful stories like this please... I know they are out there!
Nice job done by all. Kudo's to Andy Mitchell for getting the ball rolling. Every good story always has a catalyst. You are it Mr. Andy.
There goes the next Dr. Ben Carson!
I think he's MUCH more intelligent than that quack!
Oh my God, I cant begin to tell you how excited I am for this young man to experience the presence of LOVE and KINDNESS, with all the crazy negative things we see in this wordily world between nationalities. To have been able to catch this article, brought tears of JOY! I can only image how he feels, God bless AMERICA's loving and kind people. Signed, A Latina living in AZ.
Great news
Awesome
Nice story. There's hope
It is always a good thing when someone who is trying hard gets a step up not a hand out. We need to be able to do more of this.
this story made me tear up...both for the grateful hardworking young man, all the good people who made this happen, and too, for all the ones who need the same, a group of which i am a part. sometimes people are trapped at home in the deep country or other ways, so they can't be seen. but paying it forward is one of the only parts of modern life now that are saving grace. i wish the young man many happy years of driving that car, and working hard for his goals.
That is a wonderful story... he was a determine young man and walked each way to and from work. Now you have some really lazy people that don't get off their butts to look for work and expect other working class people to support them. This story should inspire others.
I can look out my window and see a house with four generations of welfare recipients, none work, and wouldn't move muscle if a snake was going to bite them. All of them mooch off the elderly widowed home owner. It's refreshing to see somebody put fourth some serious effort to pull their own weight and work despite the fact they had to walk considerable distances in all kinds of weather just to go to work. Hats off to this guy.
A free car for getting a job? This country is going down the toilet when getting a job gets a reward like this.
DEPLORABLE IDIOT!
Sheit! A Hilliar-y Voter.
Must be a dreary existence living with yourself....
A single comment commenter.
I need to move to Texas!! I walk 4mi to and from work every day and I'm 8mo. pregnant. It's not as hot up here in Michigan but that's cool how people can make a huge difference in other people lives. Not everyone wants/expects a handout.
And yet the young man neither asked for, nor expected a handout, but thanks for commenting..
You should I be to Texas. I bet you live in a "liberal" part of Michigan, too. Most of Texas prizes hard working people. If I knew who you were and, if your story is true, I would donate. I just did that in a visit to a prison, too. A nice young woman, 30 years old, 2 children, was visiting her husband. She works six days a week, two jobs. Daycare and janitorial. Smart, too. Her dream is go to school and become a nurse. I wanted to make that happen.
I'll admit I'm a corny dude who loves stories like this. In my heart I hope we can all find peace. But, in reality I realize the world is too filled with hate and anger.
Trade that car in, Justin!
Otherwise, you will be recognized wherever you go in the State of Texas! Buy a different car after you trade that one in. Endless remarks and reminders about how these people bought you that car! It will never end. "How's the car, Justin?" "How's the car, Justin!" "How's the car we bought for you, Justin????"
New media never tells the other side of Texans whereby Texas harbors car thieves who portray themselves as Christians, lifelong NRA members that STEAL cars from their former spouses just as they begin a great, FTP, gainful job, to leave them STRANDED and to their own resources!
TSU knows about that. Why, that man in the ballcap looks just like the Texas car thief - dresses like him, too!
So - I encourage Justin to realize that there is a much larger story of MITIGATING going on here than what it appears to be - and Justin is being exploited.
Wow, you're another bitter loser.
Is loser another name for Ahole...?
Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.....
Let the man enjoy his car. Every once in a while people genuinely do nice things for others. Please don't ruin that.
@NJustice4Oil You must be a joy at parties. Dude, put down the crack pipe, get out and get some sun.
"While driving the Korva to work". The Korva?? That's the guy's name.
Where is the editor?
And aside from one of the people calling a 20 year old a kid, it was a nice story.
Yeah, the Korva....one name status already?
Calling someone a kid is relative to the person saying it. Age difference.
The community gave Justin a BIG helping hand. I hope he always remembers that and gives some back when he's able. People helping people is a beautiful thing.
