Math is nonlinear? Science is nonlinear? Engineering is nonlinear? I agree abstract thinking is needed it often leads to a possible solution, but to carry it through to reality requires linear thinking.

Linear logic depends on having an absolutely correct starting point and that the systems behave in a linear manner. Since we do not ever have such (there are no real linear systems) carrying linear reasoning on without comparing real world results to your reasoning and making corrections frequently will certainly lead to failure.

Linear reasoning is simply not enough in a world that is nonlinear.
