Waffle House or any business that declares itself a - " Self Defense Free Zone " should be held responsible for NOT providing adequate security , they assumed that liability when refusing to allow patrons the ability to DEFEND THEMSELVES !

Can't have both ways ..... get ready to PAY in court $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

UPDATE -- scumbag waffle guy CAUGHT !
http://www.wsmv.com/story/3...

EOD • 6 years ago

All Businesses that declare as Gun Free Zones should be forced to hire Armed Security or pay for a separate liability insurance policy in case patrons are harmed by the Gun Free policy.

sickofthiscrud • 6 years ago

Exactly. The left keeps pushing for gun owners to have liability insurance, why can't we push to make businesses that want to restrict our ability to protect ourselves liable for our security. I say a general rule of thumb should be a million dollars for every patron fire code says you can have.

ekodiospais • 6 years ago

a better rule might be for such establishments to post a warning "abandon all hope ye who enter here".

Czechster • 6 years ago

Start with all schools.

ekodiospais • 6 years ago

smart management has long carried business liability insurance and separate insurance for personal claims against the managers. the purpose is to protect both from the government, that is, the american judicial system and its "criminal" lawyers. "declaring' a gun free zone" is a foolish thing as it could well be shown to invite "criminals' who see the establishment as less risk if they assault. those declaring managers need a better lawyer but like trump, managers say and do many foolish things these days. other managers again like trump see such suits as a business expense and include same in the price of their product and they employ a battery of house attorneys and others on retainer to "cover all the bases". the legend is "if you haven't been sued, you're not doing your job". and many americans still believe the old canard that "no man is above the law".

disqus_SVk7V1z4IW • 6 years ago

Spot on postmaster. They must assume responsibility for security.

Lancepubis • 6 years ago

"Last year, police records show that Reinking went to a local pool in Illinois wearing a pink dress and swam in his underwear while coaxing life guards to fight him...."-- article in the Washington Post. ... Does anyone really think that a nut like this would care, or follow the rules, if a business posted a "No Guns Allowed" sign, or not...(eh, I mean, obviously apart from the leftists that are just a crazy as he is.)

Joel Cairo • 6 years ago

I'd love to see waffle house sued over this policy for contributing to the wrongful deaths of the four customers who were killed. Kudos to candidate Swain for speaking out for 2A

MBBobby • 6 years ago

Since Waffle House bans firearms, anybody injured should sue Waffle House for failing to provide armed security.

BookMDanno • 6 years ago

This points out the danger--to me--of patronizing a 'no gun' business. I just didn't see the problem in it for me personally, until now.

Czechster • 6 years ago

Wake up call for all of us.

Dan Schwager • 6 years ago

I believe you can sue them for not protecting you?

MC • 6 years ago

You are absolutely correct. If the Waffle House openly, has a policy that prohibits lawful concealed weapon permit holders from carrying their weapons in their establishments, thus exposing them to danger, then they have to absorb the costs associated with that exposure. On the other hand, if someone is a CCW holder, how would anyone know that they are carrying?

DeplorableTexan42 • 6 years ago

I'm surprised places like this haven't seen their liability insurance rates rise. They're just asking for a mass murder attempt. Let's wait to see this idiot murderer's explanation of why he chose Waffle House...

Patriotic Americans & others who wish to remain alive shouldn't patronize such "gun-free" establishments. It's time REASON FOUGHT BACK against the PATHETICALLY meek Liberal agenda. Hey, HOGG, CAN YOUR IDIOTIC PUMPKINHEAD EARS HEAR US?!

JDL • 6 years ago

In Tennessee they ARE held responsible. If any business, property owner, or other entity controlling a property that is not required by law to be gun free (and very few in TN are) restricts the posession of a firearm on their property, then they are civilly liable for the protection of anyone who could otherwise have been armed on that property. Additionally, they are liable for the protection of those otherwise permitted to carry from the place the permit holder had to leave their gun to and from the property.

If anyone injured at this Waffle House in this event had their HCP (Handgun Carry Permit - Tennessee allows open carry, too), expect to see some seriuos lawsuits against Waffle House.

thatsmr • 6 years ago

This alt puss coward started shooting through the window before he was disarmed by a good guy without a gun

Geo • 6 years ago

Wrongful death law suit x4 and injury due to neglect x4. I agree wholeheartedly. Any business assuming to protect you by disarming you should be required to hire security guards or face the legal consequences of their ignorant rules. Libs never consider consequences to their ideas but they always "feel good" about them.

Good for Carol Swain! Go woman!

Answer! BOYCOTT!

Czechster • 6 years ago

A gun in hand is better than 911 on the phone.

AZ_Drifter • 6 years ago

Yes, according to the LAW, WH has the "right" to prohibit me from being armed. Morally, I refuse to acknowledge any such authority of anyone to dictate what is "permissible" for me to wear inside my outer clothing.
My carrying a gun, concealed, is no more anyone's business, than whether I wear underwear, or not. Unless they perform privacy-invasive searches like they do at the airport, they are just kidding themselves.

ekodiospais • 6 years ago

you seem to forget the old law 101 lesson that "any fool can sue and that is how lawyers make money". "to be gun-free" is not same as "declare loss free". if you were to read these blogs, you would notice some so-called "free" zones are not as free as many believe.

amongoose • 6 years ago

Now he needs to have a fatal injury while "attempting to escape",
like falling off the courthouse roof.

Love Carol Swain !!

Nashville would be well served by this lady !!

Another 'free fire' zone ! When will the leftist idiots ever learn!

jordanminn • 6 years ago

To bad she isn't running for Corker's Senate seat now............

and then POTUS in 2024.

Chris G • 6 years ago

She is very Presidential. She has the smarts, no doubt about it.

Give her a little time in politics 1st, I think they tried to ban her Prager-U vid. off YouTube because she didn't toe the degenerate commie demoncratic line. You can help Dr.Swain get started in theQUICKLY approaching election by donating at: https://secure.anedot.com/c...

TSO • 6 years ago

Thank for posting - just donated $100. I visit BNA at least once a month. I love that city! Given what I read, she sounds terrific.

The 2nd Amendment is under attack. The time to act is now!

Chris G • 6 years ago

That doesn't sound surprising.

gman • 6 years ago

This lady is spot-on!
Hopefully the voters in Nashville Tennessee hear her message.
She is a MAGA girl.
👍👍from me!

Chris G • 6 years ago

I really, REALLY admire Dr. Swain. She deserves all of the credit she can get & I hope her name becomes a familiar one in national political circles.

gman • 6 years ago

I am surprised we have not heard about her more in the past before this story. Perhaps most media is burying this woman's success because of her conservative values.

JDL • 6 years ago

That, and she is not a publicity Hogg like some others...

Old BT3 • 6 years ago

She has been on Fox a couple times.

Joel Cairo • 6 years ago

It would be interesting if the first woman president was a black conservative. Imagine the left's heads exploding.

Joel Cairo • 6 years ago

That should be "toe the line". It actually came from an education department rule the students had to stand with their toes on a line painted on the pavement.

Thx Joel, you truly are a gentleman and a scholar as well as a blessing to the internet.

Joel Cairo • 6 years ago

Thank you for that. But I'm just an average scholar who tries to help keep people informed. I probably know more useless facts than 90% of the public.

God's speed Carol. This is one black man who happens to be very proud of you on so many levels.

Chris G • 6 years ago

She is a GREAT American. Total class & absolutely brilliant. I hope that both the City of Nashville & the State of Tennessee are proud of her.

ᏗᏍᏓᏲᎸ • 6 years ago

I live in Nashville and she's got my vote!
The temporary mayor we have started talking about gun control when this happened and needless to say he's a democrat.
