350 million people in this country. There is no way we have to look outside the country for workers. The lie that we need tech workers is just that a lie. The biggest lie of all is americans don't want to do any work from manual labour to technology.

Powderhound • 6 years ago

Exactly!
That's just the narrative they decided on the "tagline" used to sell this bs to us without any pushback.
Anyone with any sense knows it's all about maximizing profit and hiding the fact that they're screwing the working class ....once again!

Jason Moyer • 6 years ago

Spot on. I'm a pipefitter-welder and immigration of all types has severly effected me. I noticed construction getting more and more effected starting in 06. Obama put the problem on steriods. 20 years in construction and never waited 4 weeks between jobs unless i wanted. These days its closer to 3 months. And that is not by choice. I support trump but not blindly like some people. Both of us will most likely be attacked by blind supporters though.

Lucky SF • 6 years ago

Come to San Francisco Bay area. Our construction workers can't sit still and are making over $200 k a year. We are lucky if we can find them!

Markus B • 6 years ago

The people I know in construction are getting paid significantly more and are very busy, especially since there are local shortages due to massive cleanup efforts in NC and other areas affected by natural disasters.

Jason Moyer • 6 years ago

Maybe I'm not being clear. I get paid well but i make the same pay i did 10 years ago. However my trade has very little to do with cleanup after natural disasters. Regardless of pay i have lost benifits more than anything. Paid holidays are gone, paid vacation is gone, paid sick time is gone, retirement plans are all but gone, most of lost out medical dental and vision insurance, yes work is out there for decent money but because companies get away with hiring illegal immigrants all the perks that came with hard work are gone. Prior to 2006 i made good money with good benifits. Those days are over for the time being until immigration is handled. I find so amusing that peopme always "talk" to people in construction and suddenly anything i sy isn't true. The fact I've spent 22 years in construction as a pipefitter-welder means nothing I guess. Only if i could talk to all these people non construction workers talk too lol

Adam Ruggiero • 6 years ago

There is a national construction worker shortage and construction wages have been rising rapidly as a result. These are facts. Perhaps you live in the wrong place.

Minuteman • 6 years ago

I have personally witnessed this betrayal having worked in the IT industry for the last 25 years. The executives in our corporations want these workers and demand a continual supply to help keep the labor costs down. When I go to hire for a position the recruiting companies send me a bunch of resumes of foreign workers first. I always have to ask for resumes of US citizens and hope I don’t get labeled as a racist. These foreign workers are willing to work for much less, so it’s a boon for the staffing agencies as well since they have a higher margin on placing them vs. US citizens.

Meanwhile they are moving into our neighborhoods, having children, and bringing over their extended families by chain migration. Our city is being totally transformed. My kids go to school with a bunch of foreigners. What the f? I didn’t sign up for this! Our livelihood and land is being given away right before our eyes so an elite few can have even bigger houses and nicer cars on the west side of town. Meanwhile their kids probably go to the best private schools, set to be the next generation of corporate business owners and executives, and are insulated from all this.

This isn’t a conspiracy. It’s real.

I used to go to the websites InfoWorld and ComputerWorld and read the comments about these visa workers coming in well before it made the national news. There were real cases of people having to train their replacements, and there was quite a lot of anger.

Michael Emmons • 6 years ago

The abuse of the H-1b visa program is as OLD as the program itself. In 1995, Dan Rather/48 Hours reported 'Slamming the Door, Denying the Dream'. AIG Ins replaced 250+ Americans w/H-1bs.

I told Congress about it in 2004; they don't care. They care more for the corporations lining their pockets than their constituents.

All of Trump's businesses in the US employ illegals.

The Washington Post has run several front page stories exposing the Guatemalan maids in Bedminster and other properties. Mexicans, Hondurans, Costa Ricans employed as construction workers and landscapers.

Trump is a complete fraud as a nationalist.

Tom Davis • 6 years ago

Fact is, Trump could put an end to this angle of attack by calling the AG, and telling him to begin enforcing the Felony Law On The Books against hiring/aiding/sheltering Illegals. No jobs, and they go home, and no more come.

Have to use the Felony law, though - not the worthless "fine" law they just write-off.

It will never happen. It's a big club and we aren't in it.

Probably a little more difficult than that...

you sir need help and sounds like you are an alcoholic

Gerhardt Wiesel • 6 years ago

Trump ain't getting no pass from me on this. By embracing increases in H1b's he's merely kissing Silicone Valley's butt with the hope that they'll like him. Earth to Donald: they will never like you out here no matter what you do.

BPS 10. • 6 years ago

At least TRUMP hires construction workers, not bathhouse boys.

correctofcourse • 6 years ago

All of his businesses now use E-Verify!

Jason Moyer • 6 years ago

So being proud of your country is a bad thing? If loving my country, constitution, bill of rights, and wanting my country and citizens to be the best in the world makes me a nationalist, so be it. Thats why i joined the army. How is that bad? Or u just another fake america hating democrat?

Don't forget the Chinese and other foreign workers as well.

Alecto • 6 years ago

The Chinese workers are never vetted by anyone at State. They're all industrial spies. This country runs on stoopid.

Excellent comment! What you said is correct and that solves many problems.

New tech company opens today with government funding and loans from North American banks to create 100s or 1000s of new North American jobs, only to be outsourced the next day or over time.

Support for technical managers is weak due to monopolies and business leaders ultimately push for outsourcing.

🤣

"I was told that I’d only get my severance if I agreed to train my replacement, who was far less qualified than I was, and if I promised not to sue."
Dan Rather, David Brooks, and Rachel Maddow agree - nothing says equality like Americans intentionally screwing other Americans out of their jobs.

Hl-B is a TOTAL SCAM , a payoff to a group of cheap-assed Corporations who are too greedy to pay actual Americans for their work, when it's far cheaper to import slaves from India and China.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

Markus B • 6 years ago

Nadella seems to be a pretty good CEO. Balmer was good for his day, but they were in serious trouble when he left. I don't agree with a lot of Nadella has done (abandoned mobile to Google and Apple), but I can admit that he's a good CEO that has brought MS back to relevancy in a rapidly changing environment.

Andrew • 6 years ago

Because of Satya Nadella Microsoft was survived. Old white man Steve Balmer almost killed the company with unwise decision of buying Nokia. Old White Males have ZERO creativity.
