That’s 2-1 Hafez, anything else is a robbery.

I’m a JDM fan but Hafez had a great game plan and worked his ass off.

Maybe I missed something but I didn't think Hafez did all that much with the ground control in round 2, certainly not more than the damage JDM did on the feet, and the scoring criteria is quite clear, damage trumps control every time

Damage does trump control but keeping someone on the ground against their will while trying to get an arm triangle has to be worth something in totality. I get that JDM ate the shots Hafez threw at him and Hafez looked worse when those shots came back at him, I just think Hafez did all around more work in rounds 1 and 2.

Whether it should be worth more is a fair argument, but a separate argument imo. He was never anywhere near the arm triangle for me, and the way the scoring criteria is written that second round I think is very obviously a JDM round, not a great deal happened on the ground and the vast majority of the damage was done by JDM, I don't like to throw around the word robbery but it's to the point that I'd of considered it a robbery if Hafez had won that fight

I agree with your reasoning but I don’t agree with your outcome. I can concede that I may need to rewatch it before posting on the topic again as I thought the striking was fairly even but a faded Hafiz was unable to keep a poker a face like JDM, so to me the control time became the deciding factor. But I can see how you might feel the damage was already far and away on the side of JDM since Hafiz’ shots didn’t wear on JDM the same way.

That choke was filthy. Time to retire, Holly, will never forget the head kick that changed women's mma forever

Iron Turtle! Great shot selections and amazing jab work. Just kept popping that nose off beat and keeping those eyes watery before switching to the body and hooking off.

Is it just me or does Francisco Prado have kind of a "Drew Dober's long lost foreign brother" look?

I could tell from about halfway through round 1, that win or lose Hafez is definitely someone I look forward to seeing fight again, which is generally the way I judge debuts in the UFC as a success or not. Made for a very exciting fight and he seems to have a style that should be entertaining, whether he ends up being a contender or not.

ODB makes me root for you. Damn Hafez, you have a tall task.

I have to say, I love watching Dumont progress. Her boxing has gotten tighter, she’s drawing out counter opportunities with feints, and she’s gradually hitting harder. Her footwork is better in each fight as well.

Also, thick thighs saves lives.

Usually I want fighters in their 40s to FUCKING STOP. But it would be dope to see Holly get that belt again, if she can avoid some brain damage on the way

YoureWhackAndItsAllYourFault • 11 months ago

Shes had over 80 fights across 3 combat sports over 20 years of competition. She has been knocked out 11 times in competition and lord only knows how many times she has been concussed or ko'd in sparring.

She should retire and save whats left of her brain

Did you read her last interview on the prospect of Rousey coming back? She sounded like a broken record. I think the damage has been done.

Plus I don’t think Holly has evolved, her wrestling got good but her shot selection and clinch work stayed the same. She never learned to set better traps.
