The camera was one of the key marketing points when the company first started. To this day, they never delivered.

Cryio • 3 years ago

They did deliver it with the 8 Pro.

I bought the 8 Pro a week ago and it's just bad compared to my 2 year old Pixel 2 XL. Portrait mode just is really bad, especially indoors. Blurry, not sharp photos, shutter speed to high. I'm thinking of returning it and wait for the new Pixel phone.

Is OnePlus going to come out something similar to DeX?

I have a (dying) Oneplus 5T and the camera has always been shocking, significantly worse than the Nexus 5X I had before. The bad camera performance is the only reason that stopped me getting a Oneplus 8 this year. I'll probably be back to Google (4a or 5) because, while their phones may lack in many other features, their cameras are just so cconsistently good.

I know it's not the end-all solution, but I would suggest trying one of the GCam ports. It significantly improved photo quality on my 5T.

As a Nord user, can only agree - noise reduction is just terrible. If I would want my pictures to look like an oil paintig, i would use Photoshop for that.
Please give me back my grain and details in it, or atleast make an option to turn ALL enchantments off.

Reminds me when DxO tested some with a different software than what was available for customers at launch.
But quality didn't really improve after...

And you're talking camera software, but I also think about screen issues, and they even said it was expected on the Nord, before finally working on a fix...

This website and the tech media overall spent all last week telling us how great the mid-range NORD phone was. Now a week later the truth is coming out. The screen is getting complaints, the camera is bad, and it's a slow phone that will crash from websites like this or when trying to play Call of Duty mobile or Fortnite. OnePlus paid off YouTube streamers to tell everyone the NORD was as good as a flagship phone but that was all hype and lies.

I have OnePlus 7 Pro and went from Pixel 2 XL. The pictures never came out good as good as Pixel 2 XL. I will be switching to ether Pixel or Samsung phone since both are providing timely updates unless OnePlus has vast improvement on Camera department.

8 Pro has about the same camera performance as S20/+. And it will certainly get timelier updates than any Samsung device, that's for sure (security updates aside)
