Alessandro! Just installed your plug-in and it is FANTASTIC! Thanks so much for this, you are saving hours of time around the world with this. :)
Thumbs up!
hi, possible add support dds format ?
LOVE the plugin I've been using it for years. However, it's not now loading for me with the latest release of GIMP and Mac OS 14.0. I have followed the installation instructions, along with the many YT videos showing how to install. The plugin is there in the correct folder. Yet it's not showing in the GIMP File menu. I'd really love to use the plugin again. Any ideas or suggestions please? Many thanks.
Hi Alessando,
I'm trying to convert from 48-bit tiff to HEIF preserving the bit-depth but don't see an option for 10-bit/channel depth as I would see in interactive mode. Is it supported? and if yes, how can I make it happen?
Thanks.
Just wanted to say tyvm for BIMP, saved me such a headache and hours of repetitive work I really don't have time for. Just donated, v sry it's not more, but every beer counts eh :)
Can Bimp batch process filters created using G'mic?
Do you have an example of G'mic filter to try?
How do I batch process an image using this filter G'mic "Whirling Lines" ?
GIMP 2.10
Great product. I use it quite often. Thanks for all your hard work.
Is it possible to add a sequential number on multiple images as watermark?
Not (yet) possible, sorry. Maybe in future versions
Holy mother of god, THANK YOU Sir. I almost broke trying to find a suitable converter. Again, huuuge thanks. I shall donate you 5$ mate. Have a nice day!
Useful !
Save a lot of time.
Thanks
I love you! Simple to install and worked perfectly. Thank you SO MUCH!
You are welcome!
Thank you, very useful!
Greatest batch plugin for GIMP.
Hey thanks for this! Just saved me hours of cropping, and most likely will save me hours more in future!
Thanks!
I used this amazing plugin for years on Mac OS Monterey! I've upgraded to Sonoma, and from Gimp 2.8 to 2.10, and so have re-installed BIMP from this download. The installation process all seemed to go as normal, I had to go System Settings to allow the OS to open bimp, but once I open GIMP, the plug-in is nowhere to be found! Can anyone assist please? This is so very integral to my workflows for my business. Will happily donate to the project if someone can assist me to get it working!
I have the same issue; installation seemed to work and I allowed Bimp to open from system settings, but no matter how many times I restart Gimp, the plugin never shows up.
Could you add AVIF export to the plugin? Gimp does support it, however, the plugin itself only supports HEIC. Thanks!
gracias muy util para procesar mis imagenes en Revisiontecnomecanica.net
thanks
Hello, it's a very good plugin ! Good work !
However, it has been 2 years since the last release, despite receiving some commits on Git.
Are there any plans to release a new version, especially with the AVIF support that has been committed for a whole year now ?
Yes, a new major release in under development and it will brings lots of improvements. It is just a matter of spare time... I don't have much :)
The amount of time I have wasted resizing images when I could have been using this.
Thank you for a brilliant plug-in.
I had 405 images to resize. This is just awesome!!!
Thank you for this plugin, made my life a whole lot easier!
Can VTF support be added? It would legitimately solve the exact problem that I downloaded this for in the first place.
To enable VTF support, first it must be supported by GIMP itself. As far as I know, currently it does not support it.
Loving BIMP. I use it everyday. I have been getting more images that are AVIF format, but I do not see support for this file type (in BIMP). Just curious if a plug-in or update may be happening in the future?
There an implementation from a contributor (https://github.com/alessand..., it will be integrated in few days
Alessandro, you saved me from a few afternoons of boring repetitive image manipulation for my family photos. A donation is coming your way - have a Peroni on me!
It is always a pleasure to know that I have been useful for someone!
Is there any way to extract a specific component with this plugin? "Extract Component" isn't an option, and "Decompose" doesn't do anything, presumably because that procedure tries to create a new image rather than editing the existing one, and that isn't what gets saved.
Correct for "Decompose", because it generates new images/layers while BIMP works on modifications on the same image.
While for "Extract Component", now it is not available on BIMP sorry, but it will be possible to use it in a next major release.
Alright, cool. Thanks for the info. Did it manually this time, but glad to hear it's being worked on for the future.
Wonderful tool. Tks.
Is there any chance to persistently customize the default output folder?
I find this declaration in your 'bimp.h' source 'extern char* bimp_output_folder;' but I am not able to found the .c where it is used.
At least for a hard-wired modification.
Thanks for such a useful add-on

great concept. How do I batch convert several .webp to .jpg? I just want to change the format with quality set to 99% for all.
"Add images -> Add single images" and select all the WebP images you want to convert.
Then "Add -> Change format and Compression" and select JPEG setting 99% quality.
Double check the selected output folder where to save the new files. If ok, just click Apply
Grazie mille :)
Prego!
This program is a great idea, and works about 60% of the time on large batches of files in multiple directories. It constantly fails when I send it large numbers of images. It also needs a save the settings button, or recall the last settings so I don't have to redo the same settings every time I attempt to do a batch. It is a good product for what I wanted to do, but is not stable enough to depend on for a commercial environment. Still looking ofr a stable batch processro for GIMP
Many thanks for your feedback! Can you add more info about crash on "large batches"? How many images, input dimensions and which manipulation tools used? I will try to replicate the issue.
For save/restore functionality, it is already available! Click "Add" and see the last menu items "Save this set" / "Load set".
What we are doing is taking original camera resolution images of products that have been cropped to either a close square, or a rectangle of some size larger than the final output and then resizing the image to 500x500px @ 72 dpi with white padding fitting either the horizontal or vertical edge and wanting to run a folder with folders in it. Each folder needs to be duplicated in the output folder (not overwriting the originals). There are about 50 folders under the main folder and something around 750,000 to 1,000,000 total images in the folder set to process this way. Some folders with several thousand images process without issues, others fail immediately when starting on the first image. Most fail somewhere in the middle of the folder. Reprocessing the folder typically yields the same result of success or failure. Gimp throws several screens of error messages typically, and often says the add-on failed and might have corrupted Gimp and should be restarted. If there is a log file somewhere I would be glad to send it if you can tell me what to send and where.
I see the save set and load set! That is a huge help.
if possible, please send a package (WeTransfer?) with all the images that make it fail, as well as exported *.BIMP file with the manipulations to run.

Did you by chance fix the large- batch problem? If not I’ll try it on smaller sets such as a few dozen and let you know. I’m really excited to find the BIM for gimp! Wish me luck PS it goes without saying that I’ll gladly donate if it works!!! … Will save a huge amount of time rather than doing things manually!!!
thanks for the useful add-on
