Hi Alessio may I ask you some questions about wsl2 and the attach/detach commands ? Because I have some problems with a device, if you understand i could also speak in italian. Thank you best wishes.

Good instructions, but ran into a big problem after doing the backups. The new WSL does not have any internet connectivity at all. If I open the new Terminal, I get internet (testing with ping) on the Powershell side, but nothing on the Ubuntu side. The Ubuntu on Windows app is similarly unable to see the network. The old WSL still has internet.
I've been trying to find a solution to this but so far no luck.

Any ideas?

This superb blog post let me seamlessly perform an Ubuntu 18.04 WSL2 to 20.04 WSL2 upgrade. Thank you for carefully writing this up. My linuxbrew came through without blemish as well, an impressive feat of OS and package management engineering.
