Akita, thank you for all these years sharing and distributing knowledge.
You introduced Ruby to me and I will always thankful for that.

Good luck in your next 10 years!

You said everything in "stop being extremists", i can see it in everything.. not only in program languages, people rise your own flag and that's the right.. is the java guy, the ruby guy, the DB guy, until now i'm non-self labeled the php guy, just because i used php and jquery since of Noah's arc, Let's just see the languages as tools inside a box, let's choice the best for us, just dont forget the clean code, well-writed, scalable, maintainable. Let's make jokes, it's necessary, but no extremism.. thats it.

We're in the same direction, Akita. I'm one of the organizers of Guru-SP (São Paulo Ruby Users Group) and we are always open to new languages or anything related to the programming world. We had talks about productivity, git, clojure and so on. There was some special events that we focused on different topis like other languages and games.

The ruby community is really more than Ruby. I used to say something like it on the motorcycle group I used to attend:

"You're not the motorcycle you have"

The group will not stop talking to you because you changed your motorcycle brand. You're still a biker.

I'm here to congratulate you for this 10 years pushing Ruby forward in Brazil. I was there since the first Rails Summit and I'm really glad to be part of "the team". I wrote a post (in pt-BR) about why the Rubyconf2016 was so amazing for me http://pothix.com/2016/09/2...

Keep the good work! You deserve the standing ovation received at the conference. :)
