All the things the very successful people can afford themselves are at the cost of those who work while the VERY successful are taking their nap.

Fantastic read! It's a reminder to say NO to things that doesn't add value to your life and help you get closer to the most essential of your goals.

There is truth to much of this...BUT it is not without exceptions to the rules...there are highly successful people that do not listen well but have their own mind (almost any military leader, the Germans actually taught that answering quickly was a great trait...there are people that sleep little (JFK was known for this). There are those that "play" is seen as non essential and drive themselves towards goals with laser focus.
It is a good article, but there is a tendency to have a one size fits all model. Real life presents many avenues to success and the use of most rather than all would strengthen the idea presented.

I would add the need for great friends. I find the most successful people I know have a fantastic group of friends they can rely on to help them be the best version of themselves, whether that be through advice, contributing to projects, providing emotional support, or just being there to have fun.

I, however, have not found this to be true. Very successful people that I know have friends, yes, but they're more like Tier 3 acquaintances, people to be used as resources, not much more. Or sure they appear to be together in social situations (dinner parties, social events, golf outings, etc.), but make no mistake, those are strategic meetings. Most very successful people I know, because they have so very little of downtime, they cannot miss an opportunity to spend that time with their family.
