With all due respect does it really matter if 80 or 80,000,000 people have the
same amount of wealth as the bottom half of the planet , because if they are known then there is a strong possibility that they are contributing significantly
to their respective Receivers of Revenue ?
Furthermore if that wealth is active then it is certainly creating and sustaining jobs and income earners , which probably should mitigate the discrimination against them , while increasing the coffers of the States .
The questions which begs answering is how their respective governments
are managing the revenue derived from them , their employees and their
companies ?
Are these governments prioritizing the issues which will promote a better quality of life for the people in the bottom half of the planet ?
While we must not forget that many of the top earning people are involved
in philanthropic work which is not advertised or for which they do not receive
any accolades because they avoid it and they believe that they have the power to positively change the lot of the communities in which they target .
Is it also possible that there is a larger middle class that now can afford to
actively participate in the economy which stimulates the wealth of the 80 plus
billionaires ?
It may be necessary to endorse a Ministry for Climate Change with full powers to enforce the behaviour of companies and citizens supported and advised by recognised Scientific Institutions in unison or networking to enlist a Climate Consciousness with the Agricultural , Education and Energy Departments directing educational material with all its ramifications on land usage and management , water conservation and sustainable eco-friendly energy
provision .
Lastly , yes , certainly fix the broken international tax system at the same time
make governments more accountable first by employing the appropriate
calibre of people who have to function in the public sector and insist that
the people who have to make decisions are sufficiently qualified to do it ,
even if they have to pursue courses which are subject to impartial
exam systems that are internationally scrutinised so that all these officials are
able to perform on the same platforms , while they get up to speed …..

See previous WEF article entitled "How does consumption impact on inequality".

The climate change focus will create MORE wealth at the top with it's carbon tax exchange. On the surface it has a warm and fuzzy appeal to civic minded ..but it's not the end game. Control by a few is what this and sustainability is.
We could have be rid of poverty decades ago...but kept the "victims" for all the misleading "social causes" of the global elitist.
Ever wonder HOW the 80 billionaires gained more each year??

Lot could be spoken but the trend will not change ...My statements could attract people to read the articles but will the facts change. A richer will continue to become riches and A poorer will go a step down further from its economic conditions ...

Can richness be controlled? How much is rich? Can government put up a ceiling on richness?

Governments should realize that they have to take the responsibility to act on Climate change in order to protect the increasing number of vulnerable people. I do not think private entities should have the drive to do this as they are clearly not mandated to do this
