Yeah, one big thing I didn't comment on is that Edison is WAY more expensive than other light beer. It might just be the Houston's tax - but it's definitely not worth it.

Side: no, not NY - Edison is brewed at the Lion Brewery in Wilkes Barre PA.

Saranac is from Utica though - so that's nice.

And your comment is intriguing because I had that exact argument with someone in the beer store a few weeks ago. They love it and tasted none of what I tasted and also suggested I had a bad batch. I think I owe this a re-taste and will get on that soon.

I am so unbelievably jealous you have this up in Maine. Dammit Saranac - distribute in Boston!! I'll bug you about this again in person, next week at the Beer Festival.

In the meantime - man, I want some Rye Pilsener - or at least a more descriptive review.

I love the captain's collection! We're definitely visiting the Shipyard brewery in Portland in a few weeks. Their summer is great - the export consistently drinkable - and the IPA never disappoints.

Oooo- I've never even heard of the Flossmoor Station! I might have to hunt that down.

As for the Czech Pils - it's fantastic. I really, really like it. The Kinsale had it on tap about two years ago - and we drank a LOT of it. Nothing like a good pilsner in the summer.

Yeah, I think the label is awesome too. It definitely caught me eye.

Also - I've never had a Southern Tier brew that I didn't enjoy. It's all really good quality beer. The Kinsale has the standard (non Imperial) IPA on tap, and it's all I've been drinking there for the last month.

Oh man! I've been hearing great things about this brew and am super jealous you've found it (btw, where?!).

Yeah, I wouldn't necessarily peg Gritty's as a flavorful brewer, but I've heard the 21 is just phenomenally tasty.

Also- I love the artistic B&W pic. Very nice.

I found this at the Atlantic Beer Garden in the Seaport district (right next to the Spirit of Boston). I'm going to talk to all the local guys now to tell them Red Hook is indeed in Boston - and to start stocking it and stop whining.

So Charles St. Liquor does indeed have this in stock - and I bought one to drink tonight. I CANNOT wait. So excited for a good black and tan.

The beer guy told me about a different Hoppin' Frog that's hitting shelves later this spring- he had a sample recently... and although I can't remember what it was - he said we should be excited.

I have mixed feelings about Chimay: I totally respect the mass appeal of the trappist brew, but basically just don't have a fair appreciation of Belgian wheat. Having said that- this Grande Reserve is actually my favorite, likely because of the reasons you DON'T like it...

Or maybe you don't like it because you're drinking it with salt and cough drops...

I love this concept - which you first introduced to me about a year ago when I wrote about crowdsourcing.

Lazy webbing has always been a rampant problem on forums - where new users ask basic questions instead of searching. But now I'm seeing this everywhere: blogs and twitter, as you pointed out - and also through Yahoo Answers, Mahalo, and misc. tech forums.

Anyway- the reason I'm writing is to complain further: lazy webbing poses a big threat to the web, because now when I search for things I come across dozens of people asking the same stupid question I have - but with very few real answers. These services muddle the SERPs often causing more harm than good.

Ok, I'm done rambling.

Also, disqus ate my comment... so sorry if I've posted a few times

After three months with an HTC Touch Pro - that has a screen basically made out of wax-paper - I can genuinely (and surprisingly) say: NO, I would not trade style for toughness.

Although my screen scratches with the touch of a fingernail, the paint has started to chip off the housing, and has a cool-looking diamond faceted back, that is a fingerprint magnet and makes the speaker unusable - I wouldn't even think about trading it for something looking like the 810-F.

Having said all that - I really wish it weren't a choice. Good looking phones should still hold up to daily use.

YES! I couldn't agree more. I got talked into this beer by the bartender at the new Liberty Hotel bar (not Clink or Alibi... but the other one...). The bartender could not stop talking about it - so I gave in and decided to try it.

Now keep in mind, I drink almost no imports... but my exact response was Heineken, but a little fruity, and with some weak belgian yeast. I did not like this one bit. But, to be fair - for how much the guy hyped it up - almost anything would have been a let down.
