As a gay man who served honorably for 3 years in the Army during the Viet Nam conflict, I thank our government and the American people who have helped to repeal this odious and hateful law that has existed so long and done so much harm to our American youth.

To the two repondents who offered their judgements of my comments: My thoughts about the 3407 mishap were a prayer that this catastrophe would be prevented in the furture by exercising our God given intelligence to avoid the mistakes made. But I appreciate your comments!

I can trust a president more when I see him on the Jay Leno show answering Jay's questions openly in an entertaining atmosphere. The President responded with a heartfelt sincerity and truthfulness and I applaud Jay Leno's expert handling of his guest's appearance and interview. It was beautiful!

It appears that this catastrophe could have been easitly avoided with some intelligent decision making on the part of weather personnel at the airport. With the weather conditions as they were and with icing forming on the wings of planes in the area as reported by your article, it was a very risky attempt at landing this plane. Perhaps, we should rethink how the whole operation at the Buffalo airport is run and make some new policies to avoid such a mishap in the future. A little intelligence goes a long way. Enough said!
