That being said, for a quick-n-dirty solution it’s still decent 🙂

Re: Logging in Docker - zerokspot.com

My main issue with Graylog is that I need a MongoDB alongside Elasticsearch while with ELK everything is inside Elasticsearch. I also kind of like the minimal beat tooling. That being said, Graylog is probably far more powerful when it comes to dynamically analysing logs and setting rules compared to the rather static setup inside Kibana.

Re: Logging in Docker - zerokspot.com

Yes, that's also on my list. I'm currently focused on getting our metrics-selection setup properly. Doing log-analysis comes next. I'm not yet sure if I will go with Graylog or ELK, favoring the latter at this point.

Re: Syntax Highlighting in Markdown with Pygments « Weblog « zerokspot.com

Awesome! Since I don't use that, going with Jet is probably the wrong way for me :)

As for using Docker in production. For various smaller projects, yes.

Re: Markdown or reStructuredText or DITA? Choosing the right format for tech docs

Tooling is definitely one of the more important aspects when choosing a documentation toolkit. That being said, though, it's something that is often solved once and then everybody can benefit. That's IMO also a good counter-argument to the whole parseability-aspect of XML. Sure, it is easier to parse compared to semi-structured content like reStructured Text or Asciidoc, but how often do you write a parser from scratch when you want to improve the tooling around a format? At least for me that has never happened yet. All these non-XML-formats already have a parser somewhere which can be leveraged (or at least ported to different environments) for your own custom tooling needs 🙂

Regarding your initial question: I use Markdown for simple documents like READMEs, reStructured Text as part of Sphinx projects for multi-document documentation, and OrgMode for personal things where I want to have a text format but also a kick-ass spreadsheet toolkit 😊 AsciiDoctor + AsciiBinder will perhaps also be on that list in the future.

Re: Forwarding ES6 exports - zerokspot.com

True, but I really dislike any kind of *-import (or export in this case) simply because it makes it harder to find out where an object or function is actually coming from 🙂

Re: How to install PlanetPlanet

I guess, given that PlanetPlanet hasn't been updated in 9 years, I'd suggest that you look for an alternative :)

Re: Quick switching to a project's directory

Some aspects of it for sure 🙂 I just prefer to have this as a separate command to handle projects differently from other folders which also makes completions much more useful.

Re: Quick switching to a project's directory

Thanks 🙂 Since I'm using ZSH this is for ZSH exclusively right now 😉 I try to avoid writing things that I don't see myself using, otherwise testing etc. too annoying 😉

Re: The Interface We Need

While conceptually docopt is really nice, I personally had far too many issues with getting the syntax right and it therefore not recognising all the options I wanted to have in there.

Might have been a rather old version of the lib, though, so things probably have changed since then :)

Re: The Interface We Need

Have you tried writing docs or at least most of a README before writing a line of code?
