He has tried several advert mediums and has focused on Facebook because of the amazing effective data that they give to the advertizer. You are always talking about becoming a master of something. He mastered Google ads and then facebook ads. If you were putting the same energy and time into facebook ads that Fred is instead of messing with instagram and snapchat you might be selling 100s of thousands----more....

Re: Should eBay sellers offer refunds?

That is really harsh on Ebay's part. I had the same experience before the Concierge program. I had the same issue with an Amazon customer calling one of my items fake (I was selling 10 per day). I never got it straightened out with Amazon---their relationship with sellers is horrible.

Re: Should eBay sellers offer refunds?

Ebay in the US has a Concierge program to help mid size to large sellers. They have helped me a bunch. Their whole attitude toward me as a seller has changed. They believe me when I tell them this guy is a scammer.

Re: Should eBay sellers offer refunds?

No way---Amazon is Sears reincarnated in the next century. Their business model will never make the big money that investors seem to think they will. They are buying scale in several different markets----But losing money in most.

Amazon is addicted to losing money.---So is Zappos. When you are selling stuff for less than your cost to service the customer (in the long term) it is easy to get a lot of customers.

Crazylisters idea to lose money on the first few sales of an item to get volume and recognition and them raise the price to make a profit is a much better model.

Re: Should eBay sellers offer refunds?

Great Article but bringing up Zappos is awesome. They have never made money. They lost hundreds of millions of Dollars with their system. Built to Flip---Build dollar volume and a name and some other sucker will have to try to make money. They were bought out by Amazon. Amazon is another company that has not lived up to profit expectations---They grow sales but profits? not so much.

Re: Bill Maher Condemned After Using Racial Slur on 'Real Time'

Who cares? Way before anybody was making them. I rode it way back then and was surprized how easy it rode for having those Huge tires---I think they were about 5 inch back then.

Re: Kiss goodbye to pedal-powered bicycles, says Brompton boss | Bicycle Business | BikeBiz

For many the Brompton is a truly multimodal. Bike to the bus and then bike the last 3 blocks to work or skip a link in the bus and ride the last 3 miles. On and off mass transit is where the current Brompton design really shines.

Re: Kiss goodbye to pedal-powered bicycles, says Brompton boss | Bicycle Business | BikeBiz

I remember the Moped boom in the US in the late 70s. It lasted a few years and probably 1/3rd of the bike shops in the US started selling them. Then 5 years later there were maybe 5 or 6 left selling them in the whole country. I think E-bikes are here to stay long term and will probably stay mainly in bike shops.

Bicycle shops tend to have much lower labor rates than motorcycle shops or other service shops. And the e-bike sales dollars are bigger than most shops are used to (which is a good thing).

Re: Kiss goodbye to pedal-powered bicycles, says Brompton boss | Bicycle Business | BikeBiz

Just removing the battery with most systems eliminates a big chunk of the weight.

Re: Kiss goodbye to pedal-powered bicycles, says Brompton boss | Bicycle Business | BikeBiz

I think the work to have the battery regenerate with a bicycle is overkill. Most people time their pedaling and braking to not need to use the brakes much. Brompton's current market will not change to Ebikes. They are largely a cool multimode very small fold bike. If you add 15 or more pounds to a 25 pound bike it is no longer convenient as multimode transportation.

I think they need to realize this and go after the full size market more with their e-bike. It will be interesting if the multiple focus's will get in the way of their current business. They have had the ultimate in focus on their one basic model with different options.

Re: The Kindle as a platform for free books

Amazon free content? give me a break. The whale in the middle of charging dearly for everything is not going to pay to deliver free content. They have worked so hard to develop their charging model free is not a word even allowed to be thought at Amazon Headquarters.

Especially with the Kindle which Amazon has to pay Sprint for access and to give something away while having to pay for it is certainly not Amazon Style.
