My 10 year old son has been waiting for this beautiful brand new skate park to open up for the longest time. Unfortunately now that it has, I cannot tell you how frustrated I am when we take him. The older kids drop f-bombs like the word is an adjective, and last night, my grandson and he took their bikes and were called m-fers and were basically being harrassed because they were little. I am also sad to see that a 3.5 million dollar park is literally being trashed by these kids. They go to the playground and roughhouse on the equipment and leave trash everywhere. As a parent trying to teach the youth in my life how to and how NOT to behave, this is the most frustrating thing to see. The park is directly next to a police substation and if there were maybe hourly walk throughs or some sort of supervision going on, maybe we could cut down on some of this awful behavior. The older kids sit on the top of the concrete and tell all the other kids "if you are under 13, get out, go home, we don't want you here." Come on parents, teach your kids some discipline and respect. I have always tried to teach my kids, what you are going to do and say when I am not around I have little control over, however, be aware of the people around you and have some respect when there are little kids and women there. It makes me furious to see our kids today so disrespectful and makes my job as a mom that much harder.</p>
