I bought this from eBay to resolve that issue:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAC...

Along with Karabiner to map the keys properly. It's simply stating that if this is supposedly the era of big data, then why aren't marketers dabbling in more data-driven decisions? Nowhere does it even recommend that clients even use "Big Data"; instead, give behavioral targeting a try. We've had plenty of great successes with it that haven't resulted in clients drinking Kool Aid - I'm familiar with the analogy as well.

Drinking the Kool Aid would be assuming that simply implementing a technology will improve your bottom line. It takes rigorous analysis and strategic use of technology to get anything out of it, which Razorfish has implemented for plenty of clear-eyed, and now even more successful, clients.

Re: Study

Doug - Maybe "Big Data" is scary and pricey and seems hard to gain an ROI, but if only "38 percent believed they are capable of targeting prospects versus returning customers" then isn't there a huge upside to simply adjusting content based on really basic customer data? For example: If you know a visitor is already a customer, advertise a product they don't own or aim to upsell. If you know the visitor hasn't previously purchased, then take that data into your analysis or target your tests to advertise cheaper or more maintainable products.

There's no worse marketing message that I receive than a CRM email I get weekly that often has clothing recommendations for women, even though the brand knows my name, previous purchases, and I have a credit card with them.

In essence, it doesn't take "Big Data" and DMP's and DSP's and 100's of millions of dollars worth of technology to take advantage of behavioral data. The issue above simply requires a free integration between the eCRM tool and their site analytics tool.

Disclaimer: I'm a Razorfish employee

Re: UWS Openings & Closings: French Bakery Moving Into Former Big Nick’s Space, Popover Cafe Shutters

Nice to have you back!

Re: Common questions about Dynamic Tag Management

Great article, Rudi - thanks!

Regarding "free to not only Adobe customers but soon to others" - is this saying that the full version of DTM will be available?

Re: SiteCatalyst Dashboards – When you need to know, and you need to know now

One thing to be aware of is that when usernames are deleted, dashboards associated with that account are too (unless transferred prior to deletion). The main reason JavaScript is enabled on close to 100% of visitors (one of my main clients had .02% JS disabled) is that the web is pretty useless without JavaScript enabled. Try disabling it in your browser and see how far you get. I sure wouldn't be able to write this comment without it!

I'd love your thoughts on how to think towards the future and avoid using JS in case JS is no longer the language that runs the web. The one thing that's missing is deciding what domain to put your First Party Cookie (FPC) on. If you have two domains each with their own report suite, and a global report suite capturing data from both, how do you decide where to put the FPC? If you ask me, there should be an option to have both a 1st and 3rd party cookie set so that when the 3rd party cookie is accepted, the visitorID will be shared across both domains and data is properly tied together in the global report suite.

Re: If you love insights, upgrade your browser

Is there something special about the visualization above? The big advantage to the segmentation option is that there is no need to update tagging nor is there a need to worry about using two events to track the same action.
