You are the first of many targets, a target that specifically annoyed us.

This isn't the first time that someone has taken our software and technology (that we've created and passed it off as their own), there is a certain piece of software that is offered that uses a technique we discovered, but we didn't release because in order for it to work it would need to have shipped with Apple's proprietary code and intellectual property, not good!

The person who took this code reskinned it (using their latin temperament, sickening machismo and gaudy graphics) and proceeded to distribute the application with items that made it illegal (Apple's ramdisk etc), we are very surprised that this person hasn't been targeted legally.

Anyhow , we learned from this and decided that any tool that is made must be totally legal and free of any dependancies that we can't control (these dependancies include Apple's software and IP).

This is where PwnageTool comes in, the application has been written over many many hours and is done in such a way that it is legal to distribute, getting information from files that are provided by the user, _not_ us., think of the process like traveling from A to B via Z, it is a very roundabout way of doing what could be done easily by shipping a simpler illegal application, but that is not what we want to do.

What you did was sickening as you undid all that hard work and ship the application with the elements that are copyrighted and belong to someone else, not only stealing our work, but making it appear as if our work is illegal, not cool.

When you were quizzed about it you replied with sarcastic and incorrect replies such as "you don't have a legal leg to stand on" and gave us bullshit about you being a "30 year old mother of two" and you referred to Americans as "Dumb Yanks" .

You've lied to your customers, you've lied to us, and you've lied to yourself and to top it all, you've been selling warez to people who don't know how to use a search engine correctly.

I don't think _you_ have right idea. The software was developed by us, over many hours. It shouldn't be taken by anyone and passed off as their own.

Read the whole thread on the Hackint0sh forum, you'll see the words of a liar, a liar who didn't check what his business were selling, when he finally realized he was breaking the law, he back-peddled.

The tool he has offered is illegal, because of the proprietary information and software contained within.

No, we drop random pictures in there for linking in blogs and other stuff, the video-assets directory was used for some videos and other media that has been linked to. It should be called "media-assets" really.

Dave: PwnageTool isn't released under the GPL and it isn't covered by a GPL license, this is why Jody back-peddled very very quickly, he was just stealing work, if you read his posts he thinks that the GPL gives him the right to repackage and steal without the appropriate credits, he is very wrong!
