Large plastic owls seem to work as well.

Noticed some gardeners have made use of old CD's tied in sequence then and hung in appropriate spots. On sunny day's the benefit is rainbow sparkles eminating from the veg patch.

Red Rider always seemed a good non-green solution except for the side effect of replacing the neighbours windows. :>)

Joe, re video business card. Have you forgotten about that now historical mini CD/DVD that was the size of a business card? Is 'Bump' or some other technical incarnation perform the equivilent task. Should we not be making it a point to no longer require a physical piece of earth's limited resources simply to introduce ourselves? On a large scale, consider the volume of oil, gold or other type of resource that will be used to produce this new gadget and for what - a few seconds to say Hi and Hello My Name Is! What happened to the handshake? Isn't the point of social media and tech tools etc. to partly eliminate our need for things such as these. Just askin.....

Joe, here's something useful for the mobile tech realtor. Fujitsu has a portable scanner at 15pgs per minute / duplex color. $350 up here. I got the desktop version. Size of a shoe box and it just flies the paper through with one button PDF'S. Again full duplex in one pass. Marvelous time saver.

I chuckled at Ardell's comment about all the bald guys at Inman. Jeff's card stands out as unique, as is he. Only down side is that is cut holes in my pocket.

Was wondering if the "bald" guys should just have a "bald" card. I was thinking something along the lines of shiny paper with nothing on it.

In British Columbia you can at the age of 60 begin to DEFER your property tax payment. The interest rate is modest (3 -4% simple interest NOT compounding and reflective of annualized prime rate at tax time). The tax is payable upon disposition of the property or you can repay the outstanding balance plus accrued interest at any time without further penalty.

It's kind of a 10 to 50 year municipal bond if you prefer that description.

My rant because I'm an old blogger. Still pretty though. :)

Legislating kindness is not in the cards.

The concept is a new low and from a lefty Canadian perspective I hear a little socialism happening here. Not that it's a bad thing. We should all hold hands more often. :>)

However, In the head long rush to be "do gooders" there may be an unwinding of the cause.

In support of the concept my hand is up with the proviso that those who desire to provide their services pro-bono or provide any other charitable work can and should do so at their discretion without legislative guidance. As I understand it, there is nothing stopping anybody from selling a house for free. What cannot be assumed is that other parties to a transaction must be willing and not be forced to do the same by decree.

To you my friend, and to the other kind and giving individuals promoting this I say, legislating this mandate is to invite chaos. Be careful of the can you hope to open.
