I have Premiere pro CS3 and before pro 2.0.
Thay can't read files. Do u have a sugest ?

Re: How To Convert .MOD Video Files To MPEG-2 On Mac And PCs

Hi Robin,
1. U wrote that u can read all .MOD renamed to .MPG files fine in Premiere 3.x and higher

I tried to import MOD (canon FS100 16:9) file into Premiere Pro CS3 and still can't read them. The program doesn't recognize this format. Do u think that the 16:9 is the problem ? If the files where in 4:3 Premirere would import them ?

Re: How To Convert .MOD Video Files To MPEG-2 On Mac And PCs

Robin,
First of all - Thanks.

1. I don't familiar with PP CS3. I'm asking about Premiere pro 2.0 . Is it the same ?
2. Where do u create DVD with menus? In Premiere pro 2.0 or Premire Encore ?
In Premiere pro 2.0 there r few menus not like Premiere Elements 4.0
3. Any way, i'll try to download this file.
4. It's really a mass with these files. I am just in the beginning. So difficult. I new it
when i bought the Canon FS 100. But i thought it will be easier..

Re: How To Convert .MOD Video Files To MPEG-2 On Mac And PCs

Hi Robin,
1. I have 16:9 MOD files and still can't read with premiere pro 2.0.

2. It is rihgt that Canon provides ImageMixer software but after converting the files(16:9) to mpeg2 , still premiere can't read them.

3. What is the best way to do it ?

4. After creating the video, what is the best way to make a DVD with menu ? Premiere pro 2.0 has not enough teplates. Do u export the the project to Windows AVI and that create menu by Premiere Encore ?

4. In premiere elements 4.0 there is no need to convert these files. but the problem is that u can't export the project to DVD. This option is not in the softawre. Is it true ? u can only export the project to files and than with other software to DVD?
