I think most of EJ's troubles and downfall came because of his wrist. I have been justifying his play because of the reason all along. EJ was freaking amazing in those first 10-12 games. Unbelievable. His shooting percentage was ridiculous and he was the player we all expected him to be. But after that wrist injury is when the downfall occurred, exactly. You'll probably want to argue that those first 10-12 games weren'y against good competition but he was DOMINATING those games. Against Western Carolina he hit his first 5 treys and was averaging 28 points a game. I dont care who you are playing, those are star numbers.
Summing up my point: EJ is a baller and in 3 years he will be very productive in the NBA. His wrist was the main factor in why he struggled the second half of the season but as many people have said, he played through the pain and still was able to contribute. I'm not worried about the turnovers and the poor decision making. He is 18 years old and was asked by Kelvin to take over games and do what he wanted. Thats a tough spot to put an 18 year old. EJ's character and his ability will turn him into a star very soon, just give him time.

He also said that he was only involved with 3rd party conversations 2 years ago about the IU job....never seriously talked with by IU. He could tell early on this time around that he was a serious candidate by the talks IU was having with him and how different they were than the last time in '06

Crean was on The Jim Rome show this afternoon...Mostly talked about the same stuff he has been, however he did meet with EJ last night. He said that he told EJ that he would get as little involved or as much involved as he wants. Said he hasnt earned the right to ask him what his decision will be but regardless he is the Coach of Indiana and EJ will be forever, a part of IU basketball.

Well ESPN 1000 just reported Kruger to IU...hes on a plane right now to B-town to accept.....Peegs message boards has people even tracking the flight....so I think its legit.

Kruger has 2 "3-star" recruits committed but not signed to UNLV for next year....both from Cali and Nevada but non-signed recruits could follow him...we need all the bodies we can get since right now just about anyone could walk-on next year.

Well he heard what Forde was saying from this Kaplan dude on WGN radio. Kaplan has Kruger ties. I think he was even in his wedding. Kruger first choice and Brownell is second if Kruger turns it down.

Something is going to be announced about Kruger on WGN radio at 5:30 or on Kaplans WGN show from 7-9. Thats all I am hearing from other sites. No I dont think its a joke....be careful about freaking out about him. However shocking it is, we could do worse.

Well I dont think the IU administration/coaching staff could have made it any easier for him to make.

It was nice knowin' ya EJ... My #23 jersey has been cursed since Keith Smart: Steve Hart (transfer), Sean Kline (Sean Kline), and Eric Gordon. Oh well, it was still nice to see him in an Indiana uniform.

In no way, shape or form should Dan Dakich be allowed to kick players off of the team. There were rumors yesterday that Bassett and Ellis were trying to leave the team themselves and now we are hearing they got kicked off. We dont know the truth about what's happening and probably never will.
My thinking is that Dakich is trying to do his best to make a case for him being the coach. I think these players were borderline transferring anyways unless we got the perfect coach (which we probably wont because I dont think one exists) so we had to expect this. Also, dont be surprised with Crawford and McGee following them. After that Assembly Hall should burn down as I said earlier and then if we are lucky...and I mean real lucky, hell will freeze over. Stay tuned....
