The stat of the weapon was given as AP4. Im not arguing that people play it that was as a generally accepted rule, Im just saying, It's taking some liberties unless I missed the rule stating that it is so. Given it at AP4 like the book states its profile is and this rule seems more balanced to potentially explode a fella each wound unsaved.

Re: Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Wargames & Miniatures News: Bell of Lost Souls: BREAKING! 6th Edition Prices and Items

Full of junk

Re: 40K: Blood Angels Initial Army Thoughts

Codex Marines can have 6 dreads if they field a master of the forge. Take, for example a squad of 3 necron wraiths. They are armed identically so you pool your wounds, if you take 6 wounds, and fail 2, 2 die. There is no option for any one of the wraiths to soak up both wounds as the mixed squad can. Ups or downs of the allocation rules, they favor squads with varied troops within them. Even though there may be a downside, special weapons etc are less likely to die.

Re: Pic of the Day 12-17-09

Hit the brakes, you said... It is a personality's name (for those who believe that there are such things) An actual angel! Like your name might be Bob, or Steve or Harriet.
It apparently means angel of death or the personification of evil will... but to liken it with Israel the state is looking into a fun can of worms. for no reason.

GW has done a pretty good job adapting most of the angel names into their fiction, it makes for some pretty badass sounding superhuman identies for their fictional world.

Re: 40K EDITORIAL: Dark Eldar – Three Games In

Are you finding luck placing a dark lance in a raider squad?
I can count on half of my raiders being popped the first shooting phase against them, but mixing a move or fire weapon with a unit who's strength is movement has never worked for me. I find splintercannon/blaster in a raider squad to do much more damage throughout the game. Of course, sitting that dark lance in the crater left by your exploded raider could manage a shot or two before getting mowed down.
Foot based warriors holding 2 lances works entirely too well. I like to throw 2 blasters in each also. Any unit positioning to charge will eat 4 s8 lance hits instead of only 2. (5 pts each... cheap as free)

Re: Goatboy's 40k Thoughts for the Week: Baiting Your Opponent

I will have to re-read the rule, I was under the impression that the models with multiple wounds rule was for every unit with multiple wounds, even if they are not armed the same. Are nobs considered IC's? I will have to go check the ork codex for some rule that makes that true. If they are just a bunch of individual characters they have to join a unit, otherwise they count as multiple combatants when in HTH. IC's cant join IC's to form a single unit. Well, unless the Ork codex says they can of course... well... I guess you sell the miniatures however you need to.
Otherwise, in a single unit with multiple wounds, like tyranid warriors, with an attached IC (Broodlord), warriors are removed as a whole model before they are all wounded even with a difference of weaponry. Any hits alloted to the IC that go unsaved are taken on the IC.

Re: Goatboy's 40k Thoughts for the Week: Baiting Your Opponent

Unless i read the rule incorrectly. You get to allocate wounds to models with varying equipment... but then the total number of unsaved wounds are removed according to the "models with multiple wounds" rule. Lets say you allocate 4 PW hits across the unit. at the end of the combat, you still have 4 unsaved wounds. that means 4 dead of they all have 1 wound each, but it means 2 dead if they have 2 wounds each, 1 dead and 1 wound on 1 if they have 3 wounds each, etc. You can not have more than one multiple wound creature "hurt" in a squad.

Re: Plastic Thunderhawk and Thunderhawk Transporter sighted

That's just poor.

Re: 40k RUMORS: IG Rumblings: Part 3

I agree the space wolves are one of the lagging codex chapters, but I cant imagine space wolves complaining too loudly. 5E counter charge special rule turns grey hunters into the ultimate objective holding troops choice (potential for 4 plasma gun shots and the rest rapid fire bolters via BS 4 troops, 2 power weapons, extra hand weapons and the charge bonus with a passed leadership check after being charged) Not to mention the ability to have the "extra capacity" drop pods and land raiders (also thanks to GW not getting around to updating the codex).
What i am really saying, is the release schedule takes too long. Space wolves waiting 11 years through 3 editions is the perfect example of my lament.
