And your mind tricks you into believing that it may never compute.

Re: 750 Words Status • The future of 750 Words (please read and reply)

I'll gladly pay.

Re: Notes from 2012 - Ailian Gan | >140

love your notes. ;)

Re: How it feels to really be seen - Ailian Gan | >140

My personal P.O.V: write from your own personal voice, for those who can truly relate to you would benefit the greatest.

“Write to please just one person. Had Apple not exist, I, along with many of you relying on tech, would probably add to the poverty statistic. That to me, is the greatest gift he could possibly give. There are plenty of people who can give away money, but only a select few who can create tools for other people to enrich their lives meaningfully.

Re: http://ailiangan.com/post/8033677586

Yes. I tried the single-tasking method many times encouraged by all the GTD people but it doesn't seem to work for me. I find myself alternating between one project and the web browser. Guess my attention span does not last long. I tried having two projects open instead and alternating between them seems to get much more accomplished. :)

Re: On the Cusp

I totally empathise – I used to be able to create at whim, till I started doing it for money.

Re: "Minimalism" Is Just Designer Speak for Laziness

Minimalism does not equate to white. It is a movement by itself. Whitespace does not necessary mean using the color white literally. It generally means visual breathing space.I agree that there are many people out there who would lazily throw minimal amount of elements together and call it 'minimalism'. But to make a general sweeping statement and say that 'minimalism' is just 'lazy designer speak' is just not justifiable either. It is not easy in design to make something look great and minimal at the same time. A very well-known and successful example of minimalism in design – Apple products. We wouldn't call Jonathan Ive 'lazy' would we? :P

Re: Twitter Updates for 2007-10-20

*ahem* same goes for me....but I seriously doubt that we can ever be acquainted with boring, narrow-minded people from 'The Majority'. Firstly txp is more of a CMS than just a blogging software, apart from a blog you can set up all kinds of sites if you know how to use it. However the learning curve of txp is steeper, when I first started with it I was totally confused even though I consider myself pretty experienced in web coding. And txp doesn’t come with a pretty “outta-box” template design like WP, but once you get the hang of it it’s really flexible. Txp is also known to run very lightly, meaning it renders your pages faster. At the end of the day, the best thing is to try out both and just see which one works for you! :D

Re: Rubber Ducky Edition

glad u made the switch :) btw if u have any probs u can try the support forum at forum.textpattern.com instead of the one at textdrive…there’s more txp users there.
