As a big proponent of popular music, I often fail to realize that it can be a vehicle for perpetuating hegemonic masculinity.

I don't think that any woman can hold a candle to my mother, so that's a comparison that I try to avoid making at all costs but I do understand some guys may want a woman who possesses some of the same characteristics as their mother...I wouldn't say that I am one of them. I have a tendency to compare a woman to one from a previous relationship as opposed to my own mother. So, if you're doin' better than the last than you're holdin' your weight pretty much

Can you bring back to life, old blog posts? LOL. I'm goin' through some of your old posts Ness and I rrreally like this blog! You always touch on ish that's pertinent and you make REALLY good points!!!

....BUT, I'm not particularly feeling you on this one, LOL. Don't get offended though, please allow me to put you up on game for a second! :-)

You made theses statements:
-we don't have the same 'luxury' as guys when it comes to climaxing
-we're so used to a guy climaxing without any problems.
-It's always an expected thing even if his experience with a female is a good session or straight up whack, he'll still find a way to bust tht nutt.

This is a common misconception that ALL females have today. Y'all think that if a guy busts a nut, then y'all did your job or he "got his", for lack of a better expression. But what a lot of women fail to realize is, men will NOT have an orgasm during every sexual encounter even if they ejaculate. Not every ejaculation is an orgasm!! If a dude REALLY has an orgasm, trust me, you will know because he will d*mn near pass out.

I had the liberty of seeing Sue Johansen (the old talk-show host from the Oxygen Channel) in lecture via one of her University tours and she touched on this same topic and gave us a lot of insight....

Basically what I'm trying to say is this: A lot of women are running around like they got the golden ticket, claimin' they "puttin' it on niggas" OR they are running around bitter because they think their man is having an orgasm and leaving them hanging....
...when in reality, dudes are NOT climaxing...niggas just catchin' nuts and rollin' over and fallin' asleep cause the p*ssy is WHACK, LOL.

Anywho who works in retail/fast food but doesn't even like people...poppin' necks and rollin' eyes 'cause you asked for extra ketchup. smh!

Ugly people who talk about others. I feel like if you're ugly, you HAVE to be nice by default.

I watch my grandparents and how they approach one another in their relationship...and my grandmother does a LOT of the things that you listed, and in turn, my grandfather treats her with the utmost respect. When it's a mutual thing, it definitely leads to a healthy relationship with craaazy longevity

Personally, I preferred a woman with a go-getter mentality BEFORE the economy took a turn for the worse, lol. I definitely don't think this current situation is going to dictate how much drive a man or woman has, cause if you were a bum before, then more than likely, you're still up to the same ol shananigans, lol.

Anyway, if you're communicatin' like you should be, then it should be understood that some things are going to be a little tighter, spending wise. So, that may mean making a blockbuster run instead of hittin' up the Imax theatre, which isn't half bad considering what you could do in your home afterwards that you can't do in the movies...
