You've made quite a fallible argument.

Please explain how you are able to "protect" products in digital format. Apple produces hardware that isn't easily duplicated electronically. Please think before you speak.

I don't own a single Apple product, but honestly they're not the second largest company in the world for no reason.

agreed. what groupon has is not really proprietary in any way. they can waste money building lawsuits or they can expend their resources on developing more reasons for people to use them and come back.

Why would mobile battery life be an issue? Are game and app developers concerned with battery life? If you run out of juice, it would be similar to forgetting your wallet.

Why would Google roll this out with household products? To what benefit do they have by rolling this out? They're trying to be the middle-man here, not the facilitator. Cabs being a good option? NFC payments would be a good option for most consumers and merchants. You bring up the idea of leaving an open tab at a bar. How significant is this? It's a very small number of your overall transactions compared to all the things you purchase from many other merchants in a single (non-open tab) transaction.

While citing problems is important, you really need to think about the impact of each and how significant they are. Honestly, battery life will improve with time, and could spawn the surge of the fuel-cell industry.

An easy way to get users to adopt the tech is simply what one commenter asked for... "I wish I could just bump my phone with another person's and send or receive money from a friend". Connecting PayPal and an Android application would easily allow this.

Can somebody who doesn't have a top 10 single on billboard really be overrated? So is Em overrated? He pretty much raps about his own life and personal issues, too. What a fallible claim. Most people who make dubious claims have never listened to an album in its entirety, because they possess tunnel vision.

Saquan, I think you read into it wrong, holmes. Jay-Z gets the cred for puttin' Kanye and Rihanna on, yes. But, if there was no Ye, or Rihanna, Jay would still be the mogul he is, but certainly not as big as he is. Kanye West has kept his label relevant. But, don't pretend it's uncool to like what's cool. Kanyewins could just as well come back and tell you that you're riding Jay's dick hard... but to each his own.
