Thanks Ryan. At the first debate, the gentleman from the fire department was very apologetic for not responding, stating that he was the one that handled these issues and had not received any notice of my calls. He was not the person I was calling. He had mentioned that usually they do thorough interviews with both candidates before rendering any decisions and he did not know how I was missed in this process. He stated his process is to always understand both candidates positions. I am not calling anyone liars, that is a strong term. These are all great organizations doing the best they can.

Police- Michelle gave me the contact for the police union, which I tried on numerous occasions to reach, but was never able to connect. Outside of tae kwon do one evening, Michelle even mentioned that she would try to reach out to him to see what she could find out. It could be, and I figured due to the great relationship Sean has with the Police union, that as I stated at the debate, I wasn't sure I would get this one or the Classified employees for the same reason. Believe me, I think you know me well enough to know that I tried for all the endorsements I could get.

As you know, I have the highest respect for Sean and how he/ his team (you) have run the campaign, but I have to respectfully disagree with you on a couple of things. Up until it was actually final, I thought Sean was going to run against Linda, this is what he had shared with me. I was not aware that Sean was going to run for Dana's seat otherwise I would of called and spoke with him before I signed up. In all intent, I was signing up to run against Dana, had no idea he was not going to run until after the fact.

I think that you and I have to agree to disagree about how we saw his time as Councilor. Anyone that gets up there and is willing to volunteer their time deserves thanks and accolades. I give you the benefit of the doubt as to his comments. With annotated minutes it is definately possible that I missed some of his comments. I do stand by how I see the end results/votes.

As for the over all purpose of endorsements, there should be a thorough review of every candidacy, what they stand for and make informed decisions based on all the information they can get. With police union, fire fighters union and the classified employees, I would hope that the leadership of all these great organizations would want to do their utmost due diligence to find out which candidate would be the best fit for their goals. I am in no way saying that I would have earned their endorsements, but I think with these three organizations, that the majority of the people they represent would want them to make those decisions well informed, with all the facts. Not based on a first come first serve basis.

I thank Mr Parnello for his serving. I feel I need to point out several issues. First, Dana was appointed to the City Council and never ran for political office. He states that the Teachers Education Association endorses MR Kelly. This is not true, this was the only organization that actually interviewed and elected NOT to endorse either one of us, but give us both excellent ratings with the exact same scoring from their interview process. The other organizations chose to blindly endorse Mr Kelly with no opportunity to speak with me, understand my positions or seek at any information about me whatsoever. These are not endorsements, this is clear favoritism. After following up with the organizations in question, I found they had not interest in that fact and with two, I could not even get a return phone call. Now, Mr Kelly is a good man and I do not question his integrity at all. I do question organizations that would endorse him without any thorough investigative process, as I would question Mr Parnello's motives and research with some of the things he stated above. Every endorsement I have earned has been through a mutual, equally interviewed process that took both candidates positions into consideration.

It is funny that Mr Parnello would bring up such things as attending meetings and staying throughout as I assure you I have been to far more community meetings for far longer than he has been involved. While I appreciate his involvement, I chose to run against him, not Mr Kelly. He decided not to run, for reasons undisclosed. It is much harder to win a seat than get appointed to one. You will see my experience far out weighs Mr Parnellos and probably makes it obvious why he decided not to run against me once I entered the race.

His voting record and comments on the record are clear evidence that he clearly sticks with the majority and rarely has opinions that are not in support of that majority. People, this is the problem with our City at this time. We need people that will stand on their beliefs and not go along and get along. We need change!

I trust that when people due their own due diligence, you will see who is the most qualified and best choice for Position 1 at this time, ask yourself, why is Mr Parnello not running and why did he make that decision after I decided to run against him?

While I could go on with much more, I trust in the citizens of Maple Valley to make the best choice.

A friend, a father, a husband. This man was a great friend and the world ois a lesser place without him. Now we have to pull together for his wife and kids. The impact this loss of life will have on them is immense. Owen Pate, we love you and you will be missed!

Raise the fees to the bus riders, the actual people using this service, not the people that don't. We are already paying too m uch at the pump..... When will this silly state realize how much damage they do without seeking viable options.

This is crazy. the labor movement was needed at one time, but has grown its britches and serves only itself. It eats up more money and puts more people and business at disadvantae than, probably any other problem at this time. While I hate labeling anything, it really has moved more towards a socialistic agenda. Their lobbyists are the most influential, in this state especiallyu, they spend more dollars on buying politicians, pushing their agendas and being relentless, uncaring and blind to any other point of view. Mr Author, I am glad that labor has done well by you, but for our country to move forward, we need to kick organized labor to the curb and stop being bullied by the thug like atmosphere the create. You truly want equality and fairness for everyone, encourage everyone to be a community contributer and stop holding our tax dollars for ransom!

I have had more time to think and I am and have been an advertiser in the newspapers, and quite frankly, have grown to respect the editor in Maple Valley and Kent and the reporting staff. This article drastically reduces the credibility of this newspaper and will make me think quite seriously about spendiing my advertising dollars with 'NEWS?" organization like this. I kept reading it over and over looking for "op-ed" or "opinion" in the article anywhere and low and behold, it is not there. It is funny, because I might even venture to bet that you, Dean, do not even live in the Public district and are just pandering to an advertiser instead of delivering honest, well thought news. It is sad to see one of the reporter papers falling into the "rag" or "garbage" category. Please Kent and Maple Valley Covington, do not take lessons from this small minded, bought and paid for editor. Maybe the onion or Seattle Weekly is hiring, I am sure you could do a great job in the help/services wanted section.

Mr Radford- I believe alot of what your wrote above is opinion, not fact. Yet you seem to portray it clearly as fact. In a attempt to annex Maple Valley and other areas a few years ago, Valley was have found to break several LAWS and spent hundreds of thousands of tax payer dollars to advertise to gain more of the people's tax dollars.(They were investigated by the Attorney Generals office and penalized severely.) I think it was just after this, the three board members voted to make an advance retirement payment to the CEO of 1.7 million dollars.???

Anthony was serving as City Manager of Maple Valley at the time and I believe this is why he decided to give such alot of hmself, his personal time and effort. It really bugs me when things are stated by people like you that is so far from the truth.
I have to trust that you are correct about where Dr Heide works, and I am glad you called that to the people's attention. A hospital that operates on it's own fees, without milking the people for more property tax they simpley cannot afford, an d last I checked they turn no one away. The constant arguement Valley and it's CEO and the seemingly permanent, go along get along three board members have consistently agreed to overpay the CEO, when he is compensated at a level that of 2.5 times the president of the united states and 3-5 times that of the CEO of UW, a Organization that is not a public taxing district, has the budget five times the size of Valley and does not have the outrageous claims/ malpractice history, I think I would have to say Thank you Anthony! Thank you DR Heide!

In closing, I am not sure about the UW/Valley Partnership, I have no idea why UW would want to engage in this relationship and risk there fantastic reputation. Obviouosly, Valley has nothing to lose. They would be incredibly lucky to have such a partner. On a persoanl note, both my kids were born at Valley and my family went there for many years, until they became a patient mill and truly stopped caring about the patient, caring more about ow much they can tax and charge and how many patients they can treat in a fifteen minute period.

People, please educate yourself as to what the truth is, do not resign yourself to just accepting wat you read, because, unfortunately, we cannot trust or believe everything we read!

Actually, there may be some validity to your response, mr indeed (?). When you respond with your actual identity I will find you more credible. There are actually much more important reasons then taxes and I doubt they have significant tax benefit considering they have not made a penny....are there any real arguements out there?

So many times developers and development companies form different companies for different tasks. This is to make each project more efficient and account for expenses that are specific to each community.
The way the author of this article writes, this is bad, corrupt or wrong in some way. While I have no specific information as to these companies, this article sounds more like a hachet job than anything else.
Did we run out of real issues to attack the big bad developer that brings new jobs, new resources, new schools and new money to our communities? If that is the case than great writing, otherwise, find something constructive you can do with your time.
