Hah, glad you had me google shell suit. I was off thinking some sort of costume, under the sea, little mermaid. Anyway, I agree, her voice is really great, not too posh or pretentious but with an air. I love the sea too. Almost too much as I get a little dramatic just thinking about it. So hope I make it over there later this year...

And yes, do hunt down Scallop and photograph your windswept, shell suit, dramatic self with it. You can post it on tumblr for GPOYW.

Don't you hate how everybody KNOWS everything already these days thanks to the internet but mainly tumblr and twitter? That just drives me crazy. But yes, we can both appreciate this right now and will no doubt look down on everyone who finds it after us.... #universalthings #natureofthebeast I was just thinking when I watched this how I could be happy if I just had a fully stocked artist's studio. I could just go in there whenever and get it all out, you know. Btw, I'm tempting your scorn and superiority but I didn't know colorists used coffee cups. Go ahead call me lame. I hope your Sun box is an old one :). I haven't touched sun gear in nearly 10 years. But at one point I was Sun certified and I had an Ultra at home. Would love to help if I can. I do miss Sun hardware especially all those beautiful enterprise servers like the 450 and the 4000.

I hear what you're saying about data centers. There is definitely a unique charm to working in them. But it always struck me as odd, existential even. Especially now, when I don't do much work in data centers, I imagine it's even more interesting to be in the spaces that house the online lives of so many people. People invest so much of their lives online now and it all lives in cold inhuman rooms like that. Don't mean that to sound so negative, just interesting.

They might be carpenter bees. I have them at the house I live in. They burrow into the wood trim and the males hover just outside guarding the nest all day. Males can't sting but they're aggressive.

I should be so lucky as to live in England. I went on vacation last year to the UK and blogged it pretty obsessively. So might be that the bulk of things you've seen from me were either Scottish or Londonish.

I've been having the same craving. Plus I'm trying to eat healthier so I've been putting spinach into lots of things, including leftovers. This meal was a way to get lots of healthy ingredients into a single dish: olive oil, walnuts, sardines, spinach.

Anyway, I don't always love the things I cook but this was very satisfying. I basically just threw it together so if you end up trying it let me know what you do with it.

Those little paper cups are like some sort of strange & beautiful & utilitarian origami. I love them with all my heart. As much as I love condiments I love those little paper cups.

Also, I live (outnumbered) in a relatively small southern college town and I once invented a shot that requires serving in one of these cups. The name I have for it is not very nice but it fits. It's called the Freshman 15: half vodka and half Ranch©.
