I couldn't agree with you more about working harder to monetise international traffic. Problem now is that many of the sites are not set up to monetise the traffic outside the US approach. This is where the real work begins.

One other point is companies often look for longer transition periods in order to take the burden and pressure off them during that actual transition time. Two weeks for most non-executive positions is more than enough, particularly skill-oriented labor that work alongside similar skill sets, like developers.

If they have resigned to the fact that they are going to lose you, many managers don't want to take the time to focus on a quick, efficient transition. They want to milk it so it doesn't conflict with their current priorities or they just can't be asked.

This is good advice not only for start ups, but also to those managing their current bosses while they transition out of the company.

At the end of the day, this is a loan deal, which if Hull do drop, is not going to affect Altidore's long term plans.

The real question as it relates to relegation is how it will affect him. Call me a blind optimist, but Altidore has shown over his career that he has the mental fortitude to deal with tough situations and make the best of them. If he does, the danger of relegation could actually help Altidore mature and learn how to handle pressure even better, which will only serve to help him throughout the future.

Take a look at McBride, Dempsey, Feilhaber, Bradley, Bocanegra, and Spector. All of these players faced the high pressure of relegation in their careers, and all were made mentally stronger for it. Certainly there was an element of strong mindedness and professionalism with many of these players to begin with, however it can and should be noted that relegation in many ways strengthen them and their careers, an characteristic that certainly has shown through during their play for the USMNT.

The only issue for me here is playing time with Hull, which until we see what actually happens will remain a large and ominous question mark for all of us heading into the WC next summer. All I can say is that I hope so. As we've all learned throughout the years of watch our yanks play in europe, there's no way to really predict it, although we LOVE to think there is :)

Here's to Jozy at least giving us something to talk about. Cannot wait to (hopefully) watch him each weekend from my local here in Malta.

The USSF has almost EXACTLY the same stance and have for quite some time.

Listening to that press conference pocast at ussoccer.com by Bradley and Gulati, you get the same feeling. Funny how Jones is welcomed with open arms, but Castillo is obviously being dealt with cautiously. Makes you think, especially with our defensive midfield actually coming of age nicely while LB pool is still very weak, though much more reason to be optimistic with Los in there.

No doubt he's proving us wrong, but he needs to continue to do it. Too many years of sub-par performances to just remove it after one tournament. Ask me after 2010.

And yes, the national wire press in Spain is very polite. However, it also speaks to a team that played Spain hard the last time out and the fact that Spain actually knows very little about the usmnt other than that encounter.

With Bradley, we will obviously not see this, which is immensely disappointing.

After watching many Rangers games this year, I'm not sure Edu is clearly a big step forward or at least the step enough that we need.

Will be interesting to see if Jones is included in the Mexico camp and game roster and what he contributes. Might just be enough to push Bradley to a less conservative lineup, but that's assuming Bradley let's him play, which I don't think anyone who has watched this coach can say confidently.

BTW, I'd love to see that midfield as well.

While I agree with much of what you are saying about the midfield woes, I think a major problem there stems not from a solid defensive core in the midfield, but rather a lock of true midfielders that can hold on to the ball and distribute it forward. This is why I don't think the bucket will work for this team long term, as Clark is not able to cover alone back there and we need more possession and distribution out of the midfield guys, even in a 4-4-2 scenario.
