I actually am in that category! Of course, I've had time to convince myself of several real-sounding logical reasons for having one...

The first is that the iPad will solve all my problems...

the most notable of which is that I currently do not have an iPad.

Re: The iPad’s Little (Public) Secret

It's so true - but if you consider the cost per use, or cost per interaction with the device between now and next year...

I'm still going to happily pay the $500 for the first gen model :)

Re: Songclash.com Now Accepting Signups

I'm very excited about this site! If I can get permission, I'll post a clip of one of his masters soon.

Take care.

Re: CD MASTERING & Online Distribution for your next recording project

Thanks for the plug for your services - I decided to approve it only once, as I'm not sure it helps our cause much for it to be on all the posts :)

Since we do not handle much vinyl, it's good for our visitors and clients to know what their options are for that in particular.

Your site looks nice by the way, and I especially like the advice in the bottom right of your home page. One of the biggest issues we see with audio on its way in for mastering for the first time is the condition of the mix...

Your recommendation to use less EQ, compression, etc. is a good one! I tell bands all the time, to remember that the most important part of mixing is obviously the mix, and not the volume... that's why they call it mixing and not "voluming"...

Thanks again for joining the discussion, and for rating this post - even though the Internet is a big place, in our industry it can feel like a small world - so I'm sure we'll see each other around...

Good luck to you!

- Will

follow:// @johnwilliamduke
http://www.soundops.com/dif...

Re: 10 Ways to Share Music on Twitter

Some great tools for bands who are trying to promote their music on Twitter. Makes me want to be a little younger :) But running SoundOps Mastering, and working with Gen-Y musicians every week, I get to be a part of it in a small way. It's true, they have more going for them than it may seem. Despite the criticism, I think there is always room to use our current tools in a new way to make very forward progress.

Keep teaching and inspiring dude!

- Will

Re: Audio Mastering Prices

Thanks for joining the discussion - when times are tough, it's good to know where the deals are :)

Next time, feel free to include links and a little more detail so other readers can check it out too.

Have a great day, and if your songs are on the Web, share a link to them as well, so we can hear them and help you spread the word.

All the best,

Will

---THIS IS YOUR MUSIC---
follow://@johnwilliamduke
call://404.939.3235
http://SoundOps.com

Re: Digital Music Distribution Round-Up Part Two

Wow Adrian - I know this list represents a lot of time on your part.
