On-street only, although some of the nearby on-street parking is not metered. Twice today (11:30 AM and 2:15 PM) I was able to park for free on the street within a block and a half of the space.

A friend of mine owns some parking spaces behind Barley's. I'm going to look into getting a couple of those for full-time members.

Possible down side is no conference rooms. But it is a very cool space.

Re: Wilson Alley

Actually, this is the next door entrance. Each week, the top 5 artists that I've listened to show up here via magic. The only time it doesn't really work is when I'm listening to CDs in my car. Some weeks I've been driving a lot and listening to good driving music like R.E.M. all week, but Yo Yo Ma shows up as my number 1. :)

Re: Lance Ball

When I lived in NYC there was a period where I traveled to Boston regularly for work. I rode the Acela Express so much I got frequent rider upgrades to first class. Now that's the way to travel! Breakfast and newspaper served by a waitress at my own cafe table. So nice...

I love trains - even when not in first class. I was once on a 40 hour train ride from Budapest, Hungary to Athens, Greece without a seat. Aside from the misery it was awesome. But I was young then.

Re: Automate Your Screen Grabs

Erm, my friend Lance Wig seems to have a much more elegant solution posted here: http://lancewig.com/2008/08.... The downstairs space where the desks would be is probably 1200 square feet. I went this morning with a tape measure to the Broadway space and it's got about 850 square feet of desk space and 650 square feet of kitchen and bath.

Re: The Great White Way

Update - the owner of Barley's is a friend and neighbor of mine. Here are the *rough* measurements.

First floor
* Front room - 17.5' x 13'
* Back room - 9' x 13'

Second floor
* Front room - 14' x 13'
* Middle room - 10.5' x 14'
* Back (sun) room - 7.25' x 14'

I'm thinking upstairs are all desks. Full-timers go in the front room (4-5 people) and sun room (3 people). Part timers go in the middle room (4-5 people). Downstairs front is lounge with couch, a couple of chairs, etc. The back room is the conference room with a single long-ish table that can seat 5 or 6 people.

Re: The Great White Way

That's excellent news - thanks for the update. Details to follow within a week or so...

The doors will open in February, I hope!
