i think they were a much better rock n roll band than they get credit for, mainly because people focus on the nihilistic antics of sid vicious and not the solid songs of the band. there were plenty of punk bands more extreme than the pistols, but they didn't have songs as good as the pistols.

again, i see your point but i have to disagree. the sex pistols were far better musicians than they let on/got credit for, and sid was a big part of that. he was a detriment to the band and its legacy. but to get back on point, that reunion tour was fairly well received as the band openly stated they were doing it as a joke for money, and since sid had been dead for about 15 years at that point, no one missed him.
