Nice hearing an enthusiastic discussion  of LP.  While it ended up solidly in the middle of my PTA rankings, I still saw it 7 times in 10 weeks in the theatre.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You were puzzling over the "meaning" of the title, and which you (correctly) concluded has no real meaning.  Paul was quoted as saying that it just evokes a time and a place for him--having grown up with/around the (as you mentioned) LICORICE PIZZA record store chain in the 70s and 80s.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Enjoyed your chat with Ethan, too.   He and I are also Twitter Buddies.  I, also am quite the PTA nerd--and apparently via my efforts moderating over at r/paulthomasanderson was able to help him finish the 'revision' of his book, post-LP release.
