I can respect the use of twitter to signal smoke before the fire, but once it is burning it is far too incoherent to get the big picture.

Have you seen some of the comments on TC that reference this post? - "if it wasn’t for Twitter, I wouldn’t have heard about it at all!", I'd wager > 90% of the tweets on the topic following the break by the few that were actually there, we're people summarizing what they got from traditional news.

It is a valid eye-witness report collection tool, a "news source" a stretch in my opinion.

Hey Mathew,

I am in t.o. and use hulu all the time. Install http://www.hotspotshield.com/, an extremely small plugin that gives you a US based address through a VPN.
Hulu works just fine with it.

I already have an xBox so I'm a little biased, but if I didn't I'd get the mac mini. A PC has tremendous advantage over both the xBox and AppleTV in terms of flexibility.

I side with bluelines on this one.

IM is easy for the non-tech guru to understand and use. Your friend has an IM account, you have an IM account and you have an instant communication channel to communicate.

Twittering into 'the cloud' and getting feedback works for those who understand what the cloud is, which are the same crowd that love the idea of cloud computing. :)

There is mass appeal within the nerd community which is why the apps are being pumped out so quickly, but I doubt my mom (who does use msn messenger) will be joining anytime soon.

I'm relatively young (25) and consider myself on the upper end of early adopter / tech savvy / web dot whatever we're at now and I'm actually surprised that many investors were eager to jump on board.

Part of what makes the Internet tick is anonymity and seesmic takes that out of the equation.

@ ericrice :

I think plain old forums and print like blogs will always be around because people like to scan. It can be tough to get anything out of video (as a medium in general) unless you watch the whole thing.
