Thank you for getting Jimmy Lewis in the top spot. No
question there. I know a lot of younger folks did not see him play or
have ever heard of him, but he was the MAN. I saw him play in college as
Navy racked up 3 straight national championships. I also had the honor of
playing against him in the Vail Shootout.

Others for the list:

Eamon McEananey of Cornell (70’s)Dick Finley of Syracuse and the
Long Island Lacrosse Club, 60’s and 70”s (best two way middie
I ever saw; offensive threat off the dodge both ways, 90 plus MPH
side arm shot, feeder, catch and shoot off the cut either hand, and

great points.
But I think it's less about punishng teams with a weak SOS, and more about rewarding teams that go out and play top competition. It's all the fight to get ranked, but I honestly think you have to reward those that make the effort... and are successful. I would agree teams like SC, FSU and TX should be ranked above a team like Oregon, who has scheduled tough games but lost, but to rank them above one and two loss teams who more solid wins? I just can't get on board with that. Even if they're trying.

great point on the two way mids especially!

If we allow "O mids" to get off, and don't force them to play D, teams will bring in their D specialists, who know the zone well. By keeping O mids on who might not be as versed in it, a team could see success!

I like the effort and the new perspective, even if I disagree with it pretty strongly.

I could nitpick and say FSU getting ranked ahead of CSU is a joke and that you're rewarding teams for playing soft schedules but I think the problems go a lot deeper than that. If you were a D-III pollster I'd assume you'd have Salisbury as #1 because they haven't lost, then Colorado College, simply because they're both undefeated? Solid logic right there.

Wins and Losses are NEVER enough to rank people well. It has to factor in who those wins and losses were against. Remember, Einstein, everything is relative!

Otherwise, with your SIMPLE criteria of wins matter most, losses matter 2nd in importance and early losses mean nothing... you could easily just come up with a mathematical equation to decided the top 25, it would be like a power ranking, and probably look just as bad your poll choices!!!!!

That being said, I applaud you bringing up this point and perhaps taking things a bit further than you really would in life just to make a point. As a blogger, I respect that. As a pollster on a well known forum poll, I find your effort to be a joke. But at least I got a good laugh!

I think you missed the point here a little bit...
Even in a college game, if you're up by 15 in the 3rd, you should be doing something differently. Making players use their off hands is one idea, but there are many others. Beating a team 30-2 makes you look like a bad sport.
Playing with your off hand let's you get work in, both teams can compete a bit more... but the real point is the first one... YOUR teams gets work in. It's not about the other team, or making it competitive really... that's just a secondary occurence. The point is, how do you get work in during a blowout. Scoring 30 isn't the answer. Just ask Tierney or Berkman or Quinn or Daly or Danowski or Corrigan...

so it is twice! A ref in New Orleans told me it was one wrap! I thought that was crazy.

Did the rule really change 2 weeks ago? A midseason shooting string rule? Is that not crazy on some level or is it just me? drop knowledge!

Girls shooting strings in the NCAA can only be wrapped around each other once in between leathers or crosslace, so is each of those heads "illegal"? because they wrapped twice between the middle two leathers? Clue me in here.
