Questions: Is the life expectancy of the roof only 20 years? Isn't the rink run, managed, and controlled by Kiwanis? Therefore a private enterprise? If so, why then do taxpayers have to bail out the rink? Shouldn't an ice rink, or any sporting venue self-sufficient? One half million dollars is a lot of tax revenue. Just saying.

Term limits, NO life-term health insurance, Contribution to any benefits offered, complete transparency to all meetings/contracts/budgets! Ulster County is rife with unethical and VERY COSTLY deals. There's little doubt why Ulster County has such a large taxpayer burden, when Ulster County Government is one of its largest employers.

I understand that we live in rural New York. But this is just plain wrong. It's bad enough that a resource officer is on duty in a school setting. Now, the answer is "arming teachers"? Let's start by teaching empathy and enforce a NO BULLYING policy. There are far too many simplistic knee-jerk solutions to the obvious issue: TOO MANY GUNS that are too easily obtained. And NO CIVILIAN has the right to own a semi-automatic weapon whose sole purpose is to kill many people in a short time.
