I guess, I would feel it would be inappropriate for me at this time to ping all my contacts with a request to an update. Especially, as that need is increasingly becoming redundant due to contant list integrations with facebook/linkedin. I feel that you would need to be very focused in the usecase. e.g. something like: 'I am sending snail mail letters out and want to make sure I have the correct details, please update yours..'. At this point my contact lists includes too many contacts where I think they would feel it was inappropriate to get a email like that.

Re: How to deal with the excitement and anxiety of releasing a lean startup

Thanks for this.. As I write in the post I could just have been more aware about what I was saying yes to. However, the default is set to post on your behalf and as you can read in brilliant book Nudge and other social studies - most users do what ever is the default action. So you guys have chosen to opt for the default action being the users will send out a message to their followers praising a product that they have not yet tried. While I understand why you guys are doing that, its a business decision based on trying to increase the virality of your product - not based on what the user is most likely to want (in my pov). Thats why its a dilemma.

Non the less, I wish you guys all the best with the product.

Re: Trying to become more creative by unplugging

Think it working well. highly recommended.

Re: Usability and experience is not the same; 3 things Google can learn from Apple

Makes sense. The post was written a few month before the iPad came out.
