I remember thinking as a child, "if it is so fresh, then what's it doing in a box!?" Because I tend to read the labels, a trip to the grocery store that should take 5 minutes, ends up taking me 45 minutes. I try to stick to the tiny organic section available, but even there I read the labels, just because who can trust any food producer these days to be honest about the quality of their product?

These days our most of the food at my house comes from a local co-op that supplies organic fruits and veggies, meats, cheeses, breads, and other assorted items from local/regional farmers.. And it is delivered, which saves me the trouble of having to enter the "spider web", and I end up spending less than I would on the lesser quality foods the stores have taken to stocking. :)

Re: Monsanto Company Highlight with Interview | Organic Lifestyle Magazine

Monsanto would like everyone to believe that they are undeserving of being labeled as one of the "Worst Corporations in the World", but their actions speak much louder than their pretty PR words. From their Ebola spliced GMO seeds, to their dubious relationships with the very government agency that is meant to regulate them, to their suing local farmers for "theft" of their "product", to their "suicide" seeds, Monsanto is insuring that their reputation as a heartless corporation that cares more about their profits than people remains solidly intact.

No matter how many "scientists" Monsanto pays to give the all clear on their "products", this is one consumer that is neither fooled or interested in their "research results". This is a company that has a history of pollution, extortion, and to be blunt LYING. Why in the world would anyone trust that this company has anything other than the bottom line on their "agenda"?

In a perfect world companies such as Monsanto would be forced to take responsibility for the pain and evil they have created in their quest for larger and larger profits. They should be made to clean up their messes, account for the millions of lives they have destroyed, and the lies they have told. If the FDA will not do what is best for people, perhaps consumers should take up the fight in earnest, and deal some justice to these companies that hold as their first rule that money is more important than people.

Hey, a girl can dream.
