Browser is way too basic, definitely agree with you.
Not a fan of file manager, not required personally.

"WP8 and W8 share the same "base" code" That's about it. That's all the effort Microsoft has put into WP8 - Win8 sync.

That 90% of the market isn't buying Windows Phone unfortunately. You see the point? They are lacking somewhere. They don't get recommendations from geeks, dont get encouraged to buy online, dont get recos at stores - why should they buy one?

Check out Rap Dialer if you haven't - it's ideally what the dialing experience should be on WP8.
I am just judging WP8 in present, I am sure we'll see something cool with 8.5. Agree with your last paragraph as well, striking the right balance is crucial and it's a very tough UX decision to implement notification center, for eg,, might be reason for delay but problem is most of the end users expect such stuff from modern OS. Time is running out unfortunately.

You don't have a password because you don't have a password on your phone. If you have one, it's enforced in the corner.
Agree with you on XBL. More it's like XBL - lot of xbl players can jump on board.

Okay tell me, what about notification of apps that are NOT pinned to home tile? I don't want to switch to Android. I want WP to succeed and I am optimistic about it's future but we need to be realistic and see what's wrong .

What about notification for stuff that isn't on your homescreen? That's an issue right there. Hopefully we'll see something really soon

on Number 2: I agree horrible experience both on wp8 and W8.
4: Siri is a novelty IMO, real life use case it fairly low.
3: Completely agree. Last killer feature WP had was live tile :)
